In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
gimcrack \JIM-krak\, noun, adjective:
gimcrackery; noun
1. A trivial mechanism; a device; a toy; a pretty but useless or worthless object; a gewgaw.
2. Tastelessly showy; cheap; gaudy.
The pages in the campaign paper trail released thus far give details on what the Democrats' new category of $250,000 super-donors were explicitly promised for their largess, right down to the "exclusive lapel pin" -- a gimcrack Croix de Guerre from the Democratic National Committee.
--Francis X. Clines, "Donor Is Listed as 'Buddhist Temple' in Democratic Documents," New York Times, December 28, 1996.
Etymology: The origin of gimcrack is uncertain. It is perhaps an alteration of Middle English gibecrake, a slight or flimsy ornament.
CG's occupied with softcore porn someone keeps emailing him.
'Nuff said!
(OK, OK. Go play with your power tools. But remember to re-charge the vibrator (er, batteries) when when you get done!)
PS. The Dentist wants to find out when you need to (er, want to) get drilled, bored out, flushed, cleaned, and opened wide up again.
I'm working solo here..could use help too.
That is nice. The toll takers should be off every thanksgiving.
Should I ask the dentist to bring his power tools along?
Alone?
And, Cookie, it has a Tuff Sucker. That will take care of the gym cracks cracks. LOL!
Just to be a little naughtier it's a wet/dry Tuff Sucker.

I'm making King Crab for dinner tonight because I got waaaaaay too much of it. Couldn't help myself. I love King Crab.
With the leftovers (and there will be a lot), I'm making won ton King Crab wrappers with a cream cheese filling for hors d'vores (I forgot how to spell hors de ovaries). Mmmmmmmm, good.
Cyber is playing with all the new power tools. I'm hearing strange sounds from him. Isn't it fun that we all make different things?
Robert, if you're having to ask for assistance in probing the situation, then there is nothing any of us can say to help...............
Heck, before I can have my teethies cleaned, I have to take Xanax and antibiotics. Oh, I would be in great shape!
Call me gimcrack, if
you want to. But I am now
completely legal!!!
***Hic***:)
The way Cyber is playing with these tools, I don't think we'll have a home left before Thanksgiving.
Probably for the best.:)
Yall gittin down eh?
VRWCteen just had his 18th birthday a couple of weeks ago. He took the cash that most of the relatives gave him as bday presents and went to Home Depot to buy a set of Ryobi cordless power tools. The kit has a circular saw, a reciprocating saw, a chainsaw, a drill, a flashlight and a studfinder, (and one other tool that I can't remember). It uses 19.4 V rechargable batteries (two were included in the kit) and has this huge roller tote bag that holds everything. He was really excited to get this kit. Yesterday he used some of the tools to install shelves in VRWCboy's room. Sounds like you and Cyber would like it too.
Actually I was blessed with a fine singing voice. However the Birthday song was not written for a fine singing voice so it's a wash.
Happy Birthday though!
That was the other tool -- a wet/dry handvac.
