I like gourds. Some of them look so KEWL. Are these for Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations?

NOOOOO!

I don't even like to watch Steve Irwin when he's handling snakes.

I like the back yard personally, me and Ringy are having a massive sequential night slumber party there in a few weeks.

Everyone's invited.

I don't know what kind of finish is on the cabinents - the friend who's going to refinish them for me said it looks like someone in the past slapped some verathane or something like on them rather than bother to clean them. The oak itself it fine - they will need to be stripped and refinished. It sure beats the cost of brand new cabinets. Whew!

You can use long fabric scarves. Mine are draped in all sorts of ways and puddle up on the floor. I use them mostly in the hallways where there isn't really room for a heavier drape. They come up one side of the window banks, loop over and over the top of the rod and then fall down the other side.

Any fabric store should have great choices.

Totally cool! Yes, for Thanksgiving. I had to take over the house on Sunday when my hubby (Iceman) was working and I went crazy decorating. Mostly stuff we had but I had to fill in odds and ends. I love using stuff like gourds and leaves. The living room is half-way remodeled (still needs baseboards and a Southwestern-style paint job) but I couldn't take it anymore and had to do what I could to make it nicer for now. I never realized it is so hard to find Thanksgiving decorations this time of year. We are usually away so don't decorate until Christmas.

Great news that you don't have to get new cabinets. So, I'm guessing the color is probably a natural oak then ?

I like the scarf idea! Maybe I could find ones the cats wouldn't mutilate. Have to do that while Iceman is away again so he can't protest.
