Are you going to put anything else (like a topper or side panels) to "soften them up"? I love the way they look but sometimes think maybe they are too masculine.

No worries, it should be good stuff. It's near the pricing of Brazilian cherry or mahogany.

Ask your bro-in-law if needs be.

LOL. You are the Dearest person. You've come to the right place, that's for sure.

I love that house. Like where it is too. Let's your imagination soar, doesn't it?

Lots of grasses would work there. They can endure the salt spray and windy conditions. :)

My husband gets in a hurry sometimes, and I like to take a little more time.

Yep.

Yes, I'm thinking toppers, but haven't looked at anything yet. I also think they need to be softened up. I'll have to get a window treatment book for ideas, i'm not somebody who comes up with great ideas on my own. I'm a decorating dunce.

Lucy is my lawn goose. I have outfits for every season and holiday, don't you know. LOL The grandkids get such a kick out of her.

Westy, really now, don't you just love my Lucy goosey and her Thanksgiving outfit?

I'm going to my favorite Mexican import store after work to look for more paper flowers, ristras, and a kiva ladder. Last night I found my table runners, shiny centerpieces, and some other miscellaneous knick-knacks like gourds.

Yes, please do post that photo, I'd love to see it. Frankly, I'm surprised that I like the black, normally I prefer lighter colors in a kitchen, too. Lately I've seen several kitchens with black granite counter tops and thought they just looked great.... of course, they were all pretty large kitchens and I'm sure that has something to do with it.

What kind of finish do you have on the cabinets ?

You don't think the sea grasses would work? Hum, I'm not sure anything would survive, but would love to try.
