2 hours and 22 minutes to go.
I bought Halo2 formy son...he's glued to it..I'm not much of a console type, but the game plays pretty well and the cinematics are incredible..If/when Halo2 goes PC, I would pick it up..
I'm out folks..thanks for the input....see everyone later...
What the heck were they thinking, releasing this on a Monday night? ;)
At what resolution and color depth?
1280x1024, 32bpp, using the default recommended settings. No FSAA or AA, but the game doesn't really need them.
FOURTY FIVE MINUTES
I'm like the rain on your parade tonight... I'm sorry about all this. =/
Halo 2 is XBox exclusive. Unlike Halo 1, where Bungie promised a PC port one way or the other, Halo 2 isn't being ported. Really, Halo's PC port played just like the Xbox game, down to the response of the controls, so there isn't really a reason to hold out hope for a PC port, IMO.
If you've got an Xbox, though, I recommend Ninja Gaiden. It's not appropriate for your son, unless you unlock the NES versions hidden in the game (Ninja Gaiden II--best action game ever.) Very hard, very well-put-together. Might change your mind about consoles. And if not, well, at least you'll have 20 hours of fun.
Dunno about the rest of the world, but from here it sure looks like Steam has folded - at least momentarily - under pressure. Had a feeling this might happen ;)
Muahaha - it's working now :)
Steam's working fine. There were a bunch of last-minute preloads going on, even though Valve upped the available bandwidth--so after HL2's launch, they increased the bandwidth even MORE, by as much as 50% on some content servers.
Valve has gone some serious power on their Steam servers.
I HATE GABE NEWELL!
I paid my money for half-life2 not some peice of crap I don't even know what it is called steam.
I had hoped to get a taste of the game I paid for 9/1/2003 prior coming to this stinky pit I call work today but I ended up playing steam, sending countless profain emails to Valve, and swearing at Gabe Newell's voice mail.
The guy is as big a liar as Bill Clinton.
I want to sue. I want to sue valve into the ground.
John Edwards isn't doing anything, and me suing Valve into the ground might keep some doctors safe for a little while.
So, its a win/win.
I HATE GABE NEWELL! I HATE VALVE!
Stupid orcs!
Oh yeah, Blue's News has just gone down, I'd been throwing my tantrum there until then.
I know the feeling. If Gone Gold were still around, we'd be seeing 5+ pages of impressions by now, but thus far, practically nothing on the newer sites. Sigh.
Some intermittent glitches earlier today, though. I came home and tried to start Steam up again - it asked for my PW this time, which I couldn't remember for the life of me. So I resubmitted my username to get the code for changing the PW, and it couldn't find my account name to redo the PW, despite the fact that I got an email from Valve referring to my account name just this morning. Chalked up to network/server bugs, went out to dinner, came back, and now it's working okay again...
I just hate valve so much now. I don't care about EULA's I'm not a lawyer. If I pay for a game, its mine. And as long as it's not a MMO, I should be able to play it independent of this foolishness.
I am now feeling so vindictive and bitter, I just want them to go bankrupt.
Sad for me to admit because I know better.
BURN! VALVE! BURN!
As soon as there's some sort of crack, Steaming Pile is off my hard drive.
3.0g, HT P4, 1 gig PC4200DDR, Asus Radeon 600xt 128meg DDR card. I think I am ready, but dammit, I just got Madden '05!!!...JFK
I liked the part early on in the litter-filled subway where the patrolman tipped over the bottle from the garbage can and said "Pick it up." If you resist he beats you up. If you do what he says you get to go about your business of eventually defeating the oppressors.
Ouch. My only problem is unstable sound: every few seconds, it skips, like a bad record.
I've gotten the same thing - turning down the eye candy settings somewhat seems to help with the audio skipping.
Being the troublemaker I am, I discovered that if you throw something at the patrols in the train station, they'll chase you down and beat you up for it - if you run, they eventually give up chasing you though ;)
