~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XVI~
November 6, 2004 | bentfeather and Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The moments silent peace not yet hurried;
only the harps in the throats of the sparrows.
O how gracious is the dawn.

Beautiful!

Something demented I wrote on a troll thread.
*chuckle*

"And the sky went black at high noon, ravens thickly gathered around. The opponents squared off on the greensward fair bent on grievous harm. All knew one would live another day, the other go down in flaming ignominy." - the Book of Foreshadowed Sorrows.

Naked!

I just wanted to use the word, to tell the naked truth,
I sure got your attention, though, by being so uncouth.
We’ve come to have an attitude of shame about our nature,
Which seems to be affected somehow by its nomenclature.

There’s little then to stand between the naked and the nude,
Except that one’s an artful pose and in the other, someone’s rude.
The word itself is strange you know, I mean, for goodness sake,
Though people end up naked no one ever seems to nake.

Naked we came into the world, and naked we shall leave it,
Shorn of our possessions and our pride, you can believe it.
To stand before the Lord with only what we’ve done to show,
There is no hiding then from what the Lord will surely know.

An unimpressive specimen, denuded of its glory,
And unlikely to impress with any kind of cover story.
But still forgiving is our Lord of all the things that we may lack,
And we presume to know this much because he hasn’t sent us back.

Hello.

There's an ambience here that is different from what I'm used to.
(I'm the one who brings the crazed ambience with them.)
;-)
