~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XVI~
November 6, 2004 | bentfeather and Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good morning, uncleshag.

A lovely presentation. Is this your farm?? If so wow, those are some logs!

Gorgeous scenes of the area, too.

Much thanks.

Thank you, bentfeather!

Yes. 'tis my little 'pine beetle' farm,
sold my logs,
my attempt at photography,
my sad poetry and
my poor judgement on the yellow background!

lol!

I turned it into a song back a few years ago.

My goodness uncle, you are a talented man. Love the music, did you write it?

Thank you for sharing your many gifts with the Lair.

Yes, guilty as charged.
I did create the tune.

Sang it,
guitar picked it,
hired the back up musicians
and engineered it.

Tuckered out now! yawn...lol!

Sure I do, oh fan of dragonflies!

This afternoon, I'll choose
one, as I would a rose,
especially for you!

I've come up with 3 different variations & hit a rut
in all of them... which one would you like to see?

I'm not quite happy with any of them... 'cause I
keep running into barriers... they all start the same.

In the radiance of the forgotten ruins
I mourn for love long gone
in the beauty of the misty morn,
in the silence of the dawn.
I wander the ancient halls alone,
my heart beaten, broken, torn
as the once mighty ancient stone
that lays before me on the floor....

From here on out they're different & it doesn't
seem right to just leave it like that, but that's
the only piece I'm actually happy with.

I like it... just not sure if that's a way to
end it or if it will lead me into writing more...
I think I may be inspired to write a new poem...

DAWN

The sun rises high in the blue alabaster sky.
The dew lies cool with sparkling prisms of rainbows on earths breasts.
The moments silent peace not yet hurried;
only the harps in the throats of the sparrows.
O how gracious is the dawn.

Holiday Dance

I beheld effort wanting return
Before the Dawns first light.
A Sweetening Time
Tho' Zones apart
Spinning separately.
Oh! Simplicity Devine.

My eyes knew no Deprivation
As Wonder filled my mind.
Shame-less-ly
I found myself
Following every Sign
Ooh! Synchronous Defined.

I observed this Slip of Glory
Changing of Llight and Shade.
Ob-livious-ly
Turning, Bowing
Fading, Fleeting, Passing.
Ahh! Compatico Refined.

CRIMSON

There is a crimson moment in the majesty of time,
when swans upon a lake of midnight ecstasy;
dance in gentle grace beneath willows swaying time.
In the magic of an instant stands a transfixed soul sublime.
