Previous on the playlist was Santana's "Smooth". This, I think, might be the best single ever recorded. I can't 'splain it, but I really dig that song.
Now doing "Slow Ride". Classic Foghat.
Home. Alcohol. Life is better.
Today I:
- loaded 20+ programs onto a computer to get it up to department spec. This includes Visual Studio, which is a pain to install.
-Hauled computers around
- Fought with Office for an hour before discovering that the problem, while probably caused by the user trying to update where he should not have, was actually with Norton AntiVirus
-Had to reboot a server. Twice.
-Learned I must teach a department secretary about the care and feeding of computers
At least I worked enough today that I can sleep in one hour late tomorrow. Which is good, because there's a paper I must finish tonight...
When that song came out, our older son was listening to the radio one day, and it came on. I'd never heard it before, but I said "That's Carlos Santana", My son said that it was Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 singing the song. I said, "that may be, but that's Santana playing the guitar", and I was right. I hadn't heard anything by him in over 20 years, but his playing is that distinctive!
I went out and bought "Supernatural" the next day.
