Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ya know...it figgers that a week into this thing, all the plot ideas that had been eluding me before everything started are now mocking me.
*sigh*
But at least I'll have stuff to write after this is all over. I guess that's positive. Sorta.

I'm going to start my re-watch of FMA as soon as A. I get the first eight episodes back from the latest person I loaned it to and B. I get my computer working.
I'm also watching Fruits Basket with a friend. Second time through for me but I've read the first five manga a dozen times so far.

Welcome home!
It's almost time for seminar, and then if I run I can catch an early enough bus to get home, check for delivery notices, go locate my new hard drive, and get back in time for lab. Ungh.

Speaking of ungh...two people called the helpdesk right as I was leaving, and foolishly I answered those and ended up staying a little late. And when the second call came in, I was just disconnecting my little pen drive thingie.
So...of course I left it at work.
Ungh.

Wow, I'm ahead of Jen in the word count? I hit 7000 Sunday morning but got so bummed about the plot that I haven't written anything since. I did work on getting part of the Library in bookcases, though.
I'm moving the houseplants tomorrow before the front comes through...don't wan't my ficus to freak out.
Oh yeah...got the money from my ammended tax return...now I can get the washer/dryer.

I'm still almost OK on wordcount, but I have nothing else to say.
So...I'm worrying a little.
But I guess it's good practice for working through writer's block? Not sure I want that kinda practice...
Woo-hoo on the tax return! Having a washer and dryer is awesome...
