The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yeah, they were obviously gonna be together.

I wanna smack Mitsuki about now, though. Get a grip! ;-)

OK, time to do a few more things before starting 44.

It's got a happy ending. Don't worry.

The parade went on without a hitch. There were 90-some-odd entries, and the karate flot was something like number 75. IT was a lot of standing on my and PE's part, and a lot of waving on elf-boy's part. He loved it.

We have pictures and will post shortly. I haven't uploaded the camera yet.

Currently, we are all worn out. Elf-boy is watching Spiderman (surprise), bittygirl is snoozing on our bed, and PE is making his award winning chili. I am sipping some pinot grigio. Ahh, It feels good to sit down!

uh-oh, bittygirl just woke up. Can't sit for very long around here.

Happiness is having windsheild wiper fluid, too.

I'm just identifying with Takuto, that's all...

Ugh...why does Sunday evening have to go by so fast?

Back in my childhood I remember very well one New Year's afternoon, Dad was trying to light on fire some plum pudding with brandy unsuccessfully...finally resorted to some white lightning, nearly had an explosion, plum pudding lit up right away.

Hehehe...hope it didn't torch the pudding.

I don't know what the procedure is for lighting a plum pudding but for beef burgundy what I do is pour the wine in a ladle and set it in the stew until I can see the vapors...evaporating. Then I just stick the match in the vapors and pour the wine into stew.

Sigh... cat-boys are sadly underrepresented in anime, wouldn't you say?

I think when I loan you Fruits Basket, I'll have to send you copies of "Bleach", which is another series featuring Shinigami. Only they wear a lot more clothes. And kill things.

Tomorrow is my last hideous Monday. It is likely to be particularly horrible, though, since the group want to get together after our lab gets out - at 8 o'clock. I heard the word "all-nighter". I am philosophically opposed to those...

That was so long ago, I was just a kid, your age Rosie I think! But Dad was laughing about it the rest of the day, I remember him calling up friends to tell them about the ignition.

"what I do is pour the wine in a ladle and set it in the stew until I can see the vapors...evaporating. Then I just stick the match in the vapors" !!!

Ack!!! don't use this method to light your charcoal fire in the grill! Or else, sayonara to anyone standing near!!!

Hehehe...I don't think the wine has enough alcohol in it to burn as fast as lighter fluid.
