The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Did the math to figure out how many cookies I can make with the pecans I have on hand. As long as my fraction-multiplication skillz are still ok, I should have enough. I'll pad out the gifts with Rice Krispy Treats - green ones, with red hots.

Well...the hot cider is gone. So it's tea or hot chocolate for the rest of the day.

Mmm...rice crispy treats....

I'm making food for the week (chili, kinda sorta), plus cleaning. Should be writing, but as usual I'm thinking I'll start that tomorrow. Actually, this week is likely to be hurry up and wait at work - quiet between panicked people with end-of-semester-project problems. So I should have quite a bit of time to write at work.

So...tonight I'm gonna watch anime, I think.

"Soon, hopefully, we will be at the parade watching elf-boy on the karate float."

Neat! :) BTW that reminds me, I'm getting my brother and sister-in-law a display rack for their belts for Christmas. I'll send you the link if you want--it's pretty nifty!

Heh, good for you!

Bleah, this code is booooring. Why can't we ever write cool assigments?

Is this the project you said is cool as a whole, though? Just not if you've only got half?

Dishes done...or mostly. Still have some things to wash after the chili is made. Gotta do laundry still, but once there's at least something in the washer, I have time for anime.

My head still hurts...ugh. If I make any expressions involving eyebrows, I can feel it! There's still a bump.

So long as it doesn't go technicolor on me, I can live with it...

No, the last project was kind of cool. This one is stupid, pointless, and not possible with the time we have in the semester. (The professor said so...). Argh.

I think you're getting close to the end of FMwS? Hmm. I might have to do something about that.

Sorry about the project! All you can do is your best, I guess!

Yeah, getting towards the end of FM. Just finished the most totally unfair episodes so far - 41+42. I admit I kinda saw that coming, but MAN! Not fair.

You mean the "worst way to resolve a love triangle EVER?" Yeah, well, by that point I was totally rooting for Takuto, so I wasn't too horribly upset. Just a little for poor Mitsuki-chan.

All I can do is my best. Sigh. You have no idea. I get the part that everyone else thinks is so simple - well, it's simple, it's just so much work, repetitive work at that. So they think I'm a slacker for complaining... and right now I'm trying to write a psuedocode generator for things that I don't know how they should be coded... oh well. I now have all 13 types of nodes defined, base coding done, and documentation added.

Do you use the WD40 for your arthritis, OT?

I was rooting for Takuto...but wasn't there a simpler way? Yeesh...

43...hm...all of a sudden he's Wakouji-san? Not that THAT was unexpected either, but...

So....do you rub the White Lightning into the offending joints?

Honestly I don't know if there was an easier way... "I don't like you anymore, Mitsuki" would have been a cheat, too.

I think Wakouji and Ooshige are a cute couple ;-)

Hmmm....guess you could. Usually a wee dram is enough to loosen those joints up.

Probably you're right, most of that stuff is powerful enough to take effect by being rubbed in.

Oh sorry, mistook you're meaning, yes, swallowing it also loosens joints up very quickly.
