Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Their pain is so intense right now that they're calling in their office assistants to fire the shredders up. Even ol' Bubba back east can feel their pain.

I think its time to put through a bill to just give Seattle to Canada. Maybe in exchange for a nice little BC town, like 100 Mile House.
I always liked that town. Named merely for the fact that it is at the 100 mile mark on the Al-Can highway. Started as a Tavern... now its a town.
I'd swap. Even Steven.

A tavern for Seattle. Geez, we'd be getting a steal.

Ssshhh... don't spoil it. :-)
[snipping my post from the WA Gov thread, only cuz I thought it was cute:]

Sounds like an interesting day out there! Glad it looks like the good guy got elected.
I am exhausted. I need a break. Too bad I get to work over Thanksgiving, to say nothing of the homework. Oh well. Almost Christmas time.

Is there any way that could make it into the thread graphic next time? Please please please? I love it! I'd set it as my background if I didn't like my current one so much.

Hi Jen...yes a big day out here. First time in 24 years that we've elected a Pubbie Governor. And we have a Pubbie Attorney General now too. Gonna clean the stables out. I'm looking forward to Christmas for a break too -- going to go skiing at Whistler.

Good choice of rifles for the kitty. Winchester Model 70, small bore (.22LR) Bull Barrel, with bipod.
Drives nails at great distance, that one. Doesn't kick. :-)
