Kerry to Hole Up in Copley Square
WBZ News | November 1, 2004 | WBZ News

The early news in Boston announced that John Kerry will hunker (or is it bunker) down in Copley Square election night. I find that a rather strange location as it was in the men's room of the hotel there in Copley Square where his grandfather put a pistol to his head and blew his brains out in the 1920s.

I thought I heard Campaign Carl Cameron mention this on Fox. I was out of the room and just heard the tail end of it. I hope Carl is still around when this election is over. I like the guy. He will probably be so glad when this election is over and he doesn't have to follow that jackass around all day. You can tell he has no use for Kerry.

No, I think Edwards looks more like the "Great Cornholio" than Kerry.

If he wears his Vietnam uniform, I'll freak. I don't think I'd be able to stop laughing!

Well, okay -- maybe he can just bump his head on the restroom door.

I thought he might have dinner at Chanticleer on Nantucket. Pate. Escargo. French Onion Soup to begin. As an entre, lobster saute in white Rhone River Wine.

A pro-American bacon cheeseburger is out. Wendy's Restaurants just announced their support for George Bush.

I do wonder, though, when Bush wins will he come back out? Could his ego handle the defeat?

For those of you not familiar with Boston -- and the ripoff Boston tourist trade -- let me just tell you that average people can't afford to stay in Copley Square or to eat there.

But my favorite ripoff is the Cheers bar. The front of the Bull and Finch tavern was filmed for the Cheers television show and that's the only connection that show had with Boston. The bar there now capitalizes on the television show by selling all sorts of paraphernalia to customers and noting it has been voted "Best Hamburgers in Boston" for seven years running. The fact is the hamburgers there aren't much better than the burgers at any fast food place. They are the best burgers in Boston, but like everything else in Boston, burgers are in short supply.

If you are a po'boy like me and you find yourself in Boston, go to Halftime Pizza across from the Fleet Center/North Station/Tip O'Neill Building and have a George W. Bush pizza. This is not a whimpy pizza for liberal vegetarians. It is a basic pizza topped with meats: hamburger, sausage, pepperoni, ham, and steak.

The owner of Halftime Pizza put up a sign saying, "Thanks for nothing DNC. Go Bush!" for the DNC.

I can get with that. Since you're the one in Boston, make sure he bumps it really, really hard...LOL.

I've spent a good chunk of my life in and around Copley Square. The place has a lot of meaning for me. The though of that traitor making anything but a concession speech there makes me very ill... almost as ill as seeing his face or hearing his voice!

Whoa! Wish I had known this before last weekend. We were up in Boston for the Red Sox parade. Next time we're in Boston we'll definitely support Halftime Pizza!

BTW, which Copley Square hotel will sKerry be holed up in on election night?

No. He will stay in the Copley Plaza forever, rarely venturing outside again. He will be like Axl Rose and Howard Hughes.

If a few thousandf (sic) of us did that they would be freakin out more than ever.

If there were more than 100 DUer's out there, I would freak out. If 10 could put together a coherent thought without throwing an F-bomb, I would REALLY freak out.

I'll do my best, LL. One strategically placed banana peel might do the trick. The only sounds I want to hear coming from that place tomorrow night are the tears of whining Dems getting ready to purchase their tickets to Toronto or Copenhagen or Aix En Provence or wherever it is they keep promising to move to.

All of Copley Square is taken over by platforms, amplifiers, fences, and miles of electrical wire. The whole front of the library is where the stage is set up for Lurch to rally his band of losers. Between the Sox parade and now Kerry, Copley Square has been shut off since last Thursday. My plans are to go to the Oak Room at the Copley Plaza for an overpriced celebratory drink on Wednesday night, stepping over the prostrate bodies of his grief-stricken followers.

I remember that, and figured that his shop wouldn't last one day before some memeber of the Party of Love firebombed it, and Mumbles Menino made sure the FD took its time answering the 911 call. Glad to hear Halftime Pizza survived the Rat infestation.
