For those of you not familiar with Boston -- and the ripoff Boston tourist trade -- let me just tell you that average people can't afford to stay in Copley Square or to eat there.

But my favorite ripoff is the Cheers bar. The front of the Bull and Finch tavern was filmed for the Cheers television show and that's the only connection that show had with Boston. The bar there now capitalizes on the television show by selling all sorts of paraphernalia to customers and noting it has been voted "Best Hamburgers in Boston" for seven years running. The fact is the hamburgers there aren't much better than the burgers at any fast food place. They are the best burgers in Boston, but like everything else in Boston, burgers are in short supply.

If you are a po'boy like me and you find yourself in Boston, go to Halftime Pizza across from the Fleet Center/North Station/Tip O'Neill Building and have a George W. Bush pizza. This is not a whimpy pizza for liberal vegetarians. It is a basic pizza topped with meats: hamburger, sausage, pepperoni, ham, and steak.

The owner of Halftime Pizza put up a sign saying, "Thanks for nothing DNC. Go Bush!" for the DNC.

Whoa! Wish I had known this before last weekend. We were up in Boston for the Red Sox parade. Next time we're in Boston we'll definitely support Halftime Pizza!

BTW, which Copley Square hotel will sKerry be holed up in on election night?

I remember that, and figured that his shop wouldn't last one day before some memeber of the Party of Love firebombed it, and Mumbles Menino made sure the FD took its time answering the 911 call. Glad to hear Halftime Pizza survived the Rat infestation.
