What Was It Like In 2000 At FR?

I am fairly new here, so I am just wondering what it was like at FR in 2000.

I did not know about arrests being made. I wonder why that never made the news. Pftt!

Also during the recount, I and a whole bunch of other like-minded individuals, protested in front of CNN Center in downtown Atlanta. That was a lot of fun.

IIRC, the mood here was outright shock that the dems were attempting a coup 'd etat.
Many of us hit the streets in protest - an amazing thing because nobody in America had ever seen Republicans protest anything.
Leading up to the election? I really don't remember anything special about that part.

I am just wondering what it was like at FR in 2000. Let me just say this: clean your house and get your Christmas shopping done.
And tell your family to KISS OFF, you'll see them when the electoral votes are certified in December.

I think you summed it up rather succinctly.

Oh yeah, you remember the loud Democrat wench that kept getting in front of the camera in Florida, can't remember her name, but she and another were arrested for crimes.
I would look it up, but the other events that are current matter to me more right now. You can do searches through google to find what you seek though. The news was about a year or older.

Your statement on vote fraud is right on the money.I can still remember how I felt when Peter Jennings announced in the wee hours of the morning that a plane load of Gore's lawyers had landed in Tallahassee before dawn. I knew right then we were off to the races.

We believed a lot of garbage about 2YK, and about Nichols saying President Clinton was going to NOT LEAVE the White House. Now we are more careful about what to believe.

We had several huge Bush rallies in Times Square during the time between the election and the final decision. The last one was on December 3, with the Gypsy Kings blasting "Cambio!" into the intersection. We were psyched to get rid of the corrupt Clinton trash.
This year is different. We are all expecting widespread fraud, abetted by HAVA, and attempts to fight it all out in the courts, and of course violence if the Rats don't get their way. The emotions are even higher but different.

I suspect there will be a new list of crap not to believe after this election is over.

The 2000 fiasco is how I came to FR. Hunkering at my desk, desperate for even the tiniest rumor that it would be over soon and the last vestiges of the skanky clinton era would be swept away. Suddenly I was surrounded by other people - somewhere out there - hunkering at their desks, just like me. I think I linked from Drudge, and I remember that little warning thing, about FR being addictive.
Of course, it's not...I can quit any time I want to...
Anyway, this seems much much worse than 2000. It was still a 9/10 world back then.

I have been a member since Jan/04 and I haven't posted yet. (Too afraid. Man you guys are brutal! LOL) But anyway I have gotten into a lot of discussions on FR but I still don't know what the story is behind the beeber and stune. I know its a really dumb question but there it is. Anyone?

We believed a lot of garbage about 2YKYeah, my recollection is that FR was fringier and less RNC back then. It's interesting how this place has evolved.
I know I've evolved quite a bit along with FR. I was a hardcore libertarian-constitutionalist contrarian then (not a very good one, though, because I didn't know anything about anything) -- but now I'm dangerously close to being a Bushbot.
I really need to update my profile page to reflect this.

Just remember, no matter what you post here, we can't jump out of the screen and hurt you ;-)
