People who live in socialist utopias usually don't make much money or have very fun jobs! Unless they are at the top of the food chain that is!

Kerry has a plan to keep Americans from earning $200,000.

It's called socialism.

Obama, last week stated that Bush gave "tax cuts that no one needed or asked for them." I was pretty shocked at that one too.

Excellent point! Quite frankly, I had not thought of that angle.

Now, what kind of fun can we have with it...

Boy I'm glad you posted this!

Kerry is such an elitist communist/marxist/scumbag!

I was really hoping POTUS would say his hope was that everyone could make it to that 1% tax bracket!

I recall that remark. He said the tax hikes would only affect three people in the room: President Bush, him, and Charlie Gibson. "Just by looking around the room, I can tell that only three people here will be affected..."

Which tells me he's really ignorant. Those who are comfortably off here in MO do not feel a need to call attention to themselves with $1000 hairdos, men here don't get manicures, and if you have to impress people with your clothes beyond looking presentable, you're either under 18, or living beyond your means.

I turned to my wife, stunned at the stupidity of such a comment. How does he know for certain there is not a wealthy widow in attendance?

What nerve to demean all us hard working Americans. He is rich because of John Heinz (RIP), he is a "gigaloo" and that comes right from Michael Savage. I totally agree with that "label"...remember those comments he made tonight?

He has a nose for money. How else could he have married two wealthy $200k a year plus babes? Skerry is such a snob, I can't beleive people actually think he is looking out for the little guy. It is a shame, really.

You have it right --- Kerry is Mr. Socialist -- he was spraying it all over tonight. Playing the class-division card with his old, tired, lib rhetoric about "tax cuts for the rich"...just could not stop saying it over and over. Sounds like the Mass. drunk, old Teddy.

I know that Rush will have a picture, and FOX will archive Kerry looking into the camera and pledging NO TAX INCREASES!!!! For a socialist like Kerry, that is like a vampire promising to not drink blood anymore...

Kerry married up to money, W was born into it, at least Charlie made most of his by making the best of his career (although I heard he had a pretty good birthright also.)

When did Kerry's annual income ever surpass $200,000/year?

The constant class warfare demagoguery by the Dems on income taxes drives me absolutely crazy. It's sad Bush didn't call Kerry on this. The U.S. income tax system has become so incredibly progressive in recent years that 80% of our taxpayers only pay 20% of the total tax. The top 2% pay 40% of the taxes (2000 data). See Distribution of Certain Federal Tax Liabilities by Income Class. The fact is that today very few of our citizens have an economic stake in our system of government and it's easy to convince those without any economic stake that we should "soak the rich." But there isn't enough wealth at the top end to pay for all of his proposed programs even if we returned to the confiscatory marginal rates of 90% in the 1950s.

Right on. For all Kerry knew, some of those in the audience could have been filthy rich trial lawyers.

What got me was his response to Bush's point that a lot of small businesses that make over 200K a year will be taxed heavier under Kerry's plan. Kerry responded that 96% don't fall under the category. Ok, assuming he is right, that means he is planning on raising taxes on 4% of small business owners. That is a lot of small business owners who will be hit hard. The Dems just don't get it.

My husband thought it was just as insulting for Kerry to tell these people that they obviously didn't get tax cuts either unless they made that much. I am sure everyone who got one is smart enough to know they got one -- even if they don't make $200,000.
