The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hmmm... that sounds so... French, somehow.

Will it hide bloodstains?

OT: actually I was thinking that the cat hair would be less visible, not that cat would approve of the color. :-)

Blue and brown sound good to me.

Great letter, thanks for posting it. Glad the troops are getting and carrying the knives.

Well....it's got flecks of burgundy in it. But I keep a bottle of Resolve handy just in case.

Did you get video with that clip?

Yeah, it was Yoda and Jar Jar doing the bit.

Any time a household move is made and it doesn't include a trip to the emergency room, you can consider it a success.

Try liquid wrench on the recalciterant bolts and screws, wait 24 hours and repeat, the rest of the stuff should come out fine with a proper fitting wrench or screwdriver. :-)

Oh. Well it might hide it some. It's mostly a medium gray with flecks of white, green, gold, and burgundy in it.

You mean I shouldn't consider the cat's color preference?!

Just in case the toaster gets loose, right?

I didn't see anything but a black screen. You'd think they would use Yoda and JarJar's voices.

You just can't be too careful with toasters.

To: Overtaxed

Nope, nope... not too careful... you do store it under the sink, unplugged, when it's not in use, right?

I think the crockpot and the toaster have been talking.

Should I be worried?

It's on the counter where I can keep an eye on it....beside the coffee maker.

I don't know whether it's better to unplug it or leave it tethered to the wall.

Corin, Trucks need a few character lines, kinda like us, a few scars to show we've been dumb or lucky or both.

True enough g'nad, chainsaws are powertool to be approached with respect. Sounds like he might have been better off with a bow saw. You can still hurt yourself with one but it takes more effort on your part.

Ol Tenpoint is showing off alright, letting the young'uns know to stay clear and inviting the ladies to linger.

Good evening! We just finished watching "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", which has always irritated me as being very illogical...but it's fairly entertaining at the same time.

The kids just left...time to write.

Didn't accomplish much today. AND I got my birthday card from Grandma which included a letter that said "You know, I'd really have thought you'd have met some nice young man by now..."

Um...thanks. Now I feel much better. Not.

Uh-oh.

I'm just glad the toaster doesn't hang out with the bread machine. I sometimes leave the bread machine on a timed delay.

Bread machine has electronic brains?

Danger!
