Freep O'Reilly Until He Takes Action On Dec 11, 2001 Kerry Interview
O'Reilly Factor = FNC ^ | Oct 2, 2004 | Indepman

O'Reilly recently replayed a 2001 interview with John Kerry where he said the following:

"I mean, I was in Safwan. I went there when the signing of the armistice took place at the end of the war." John Kerry on the O'Reilly Factor - Dec 11, 2001

There is no reason for him to ever have been at Safwan.

O'Reilly needs to confront the truth on his interview with Kerry...

He was there with a Congressional delegation about a week later, not at the signing.

The fog of war got his memory again evidently.

I don't think counting on O'Reilly for anything is a good idea -

Just my opinion - when it comes to those crunch times - that guy fails -

Where do you find the intestinal fortitude to listen to that man? He has devolved into something an apparition couldn't stomach.

This was also picked up, sort of, by National Review:
Kerry Spot

Kerry on the O'Reilly Factor in 2001:

KERRY: I didn't say necessarily the Kurds. There are other members of the opposition. There are people who are outside the country prepared to go in. There are others inside the country. And I believe -- I mean, I was in Safwan. I went there when the signing of the armistice took place at the end of the war.

And I remember seeing that land, which lent itself in my judgment, considerably to the creation of almost an enclave, which I thought we should have done then. And I think is one way to begin to approach things now, but there are other possibilities. The important thing is that Saddam Hussein and the world knows that we think Saddam Hussein is essentially out of sync with the times. He is and has acted like a terrorist. And he is engaged in activities that are unacceptable.

---

Problem? Kerry WASN'T IN SAFWAN for the signing of the cease-fire, which took place on March 3rd, 1991. He was in Iraq - 2 weeks later, to congratulate the troops for a job well done that he VOTED against! And for a further slap in the face, he mentioned.. yep VIETNAM!!!!

"It's unbelievable," Sen. John Kerry said, congratulating the troops yesterday. "A lot of those of us who served in Vietnam found a new breath of air in your courage and optimism." ...
