Even as many had dreams indicating in July and August that September would be a month of storms, others have had dreams saying that October would be a month of terrorism. May we be found standing in the breach as the Lord would direct us.

September 4. 2004 5:03am.........had this dream three times...
I am standing outside, and approximately about 20 feet away from me, I see what looks like a big globe of the world.
As I begin to walk towards it, I am then lifted up far above this globe, and can now look down , and see the whole universe.
As I look far over towards the left, I see a darkening in the sky. In a blink of an eye, it strikes me that it has the resemblance of New York…the stock exchange buildings and business area. I then become aware, that as this situation is occurring, that in other parts of the world, there seem to be simultaneous attacks.
Although, I am not certain, of the exact places these attacks are also occurring, I do notice, that oil refineries, are being blown up, and I notice there seems to be those of Arabic descent as well as what appears to be Iraq, is now once again, under heavy attack, with air attacks, and ground forces, attacking just as they did in the beginning of the war…many lives are lost.
As this takes place, I look to my right, and see more destruction, and terror and death.
As I awoke, I was in tears, and kept hearing "Oct will be a significant month, Winds Of Change…Watch and Pray"

We have a lot of ideas about what is going on with dreams, some ideas from quantum mechanics and others from metaphysics. Most of us do not have enough control over our dreams to say much about them. Those who do have control over their dreams wouldn't be saying much. It can get into whether someone believes the mind is simply something the brain does--most people, especially scientists--or whether mind is present everywhere. It's fascinating to speculate, but to pay attention to someone's dream just because it was memorable is not something we need to do. If Alqaida wants to do battle in the realm of dreams, they are more than welcome to give it a try, but there is no sign they are especially adept at it.
Sounds like you have a variety of alternate realities available for your backyard walks.
I'm skeptical that we are likely to walk the same paths. But it sounds like an interesting perspective.
I used to have horrible nightmares all the time, but then I learned how to do lucid dreaming whenever, and now I just enjoy the show. If Hillary shows up in a dream, I just laugh and ignore. If a building collapses in a dream, I just put it back together. Really, dreams are no big deal, not messages.
Certainly one can influence one's own dreams--especially with practice.
However, a long list of people historic and present are living testimonies that SOME dreams are indeed messages from God.
Joseph in the Old Testament comes to mind along with Daniel.
Yeah, the thing is that Alqaida is relying on dreams for communication, which is kind of weird when prophets do this and supposedly the last prophet died over 1000 years ago and there will never be another according to them. Somebody should call them on that.
Perhaps your sources are flawed.
Scripture indicates that prophets true and false will be around when Jesus returns.

Okay, I teach high school psychology. Dr. Francis Crick, winner of the Nobel Prize and the co-discoverer of DNA theorizes that dreams serve as a helpful mechanism to clean up the clutter of unneeded memories, a housecleaning function, if you will. Now, when Freud wrote his treatise on dreams in 1900, he theorized a manifest content that comes from the day's experiences and a latent content that comes from the person's unconscious wishes. Freud was particularly interested in in wishes concerning childhood psychosexual conflicts. Very few folks today use Freud's system of dream interpretation, but it opened the door to the scientific study of dreams.
On average, a person spends 75% of his time in stages I-IV with stage IV being the deepest sleep of all, it is often very difficult to waken a person in this stage. At this point your mind begins to emit Delta Waves and your eyes begin a rapid sideways movement called REM sleep also called "active sleep." Stages I-IV are NREM or quiet sleep for the lack of eye movement. REM sleep lasts only 10 min or so. Stages I-IV will continually cycle through at 90 min intervals. Each cycle the deepest sleep (IV) decreases and REM sleep increases and this continues until you wake up.
You dream throughout all the stages, but evidence shows the dreams in REM sleep and particularly in the last vestiges of REM before you wake are the most vivid and often disturbing. Some dreams are benign, but a large percentage feature negative emotions: anger, anxiety, sadness. Contrary to popular belief, dreams do not take place in a split second. They correspond on a realistic time scale. The brain is never inactive.
Quix is requesting that folks relate what he refers to as visions that people experience in which a precognitive element seems present. This is covered in parapsychology and is not a field with which I'm deeply familiar.
I have not had that dream, but it's not an unreasonable thought in this world, today.

I sent it out to my email list which has a number of spiritually sensitive folks devoted to our Lord Jesus, The Father and Spirit.
A number have already returned confirmations of the same sense, feelings as described in and from the dreams.

Actually, I'm talking about Holy Spirit breathed Biblical sorts of dreams and/or waking 'visions' which are instructive from The Lord for some reason--and in this case, predictive regarding terror attacks etc. in the month of Oct.
There are counterfeits of all kinds of things from the evil one. I'm not talking about any of such 'new age' or other similar counterfeits. I consider the counterfeits to be part of parapsychology. I don't consider Biblical, authentic Holy Spirit experiences to be from the field of parapsychology though I recognize that secular persons would not make such a distinction.
I also recognize that most dreams seem to arise out of some kind of mental processing of the day's activities and thoughts and as such can easily reflect anxieties, concerns, events real and fiction from TV, thoughts or whatever.
I'm struck in the case of the dream at the beginning of this thread by at least a couple of things.
1) It was sent via a close friend who tends to be above average in her Spirit led discernment. She considers the source to be way above average in her reliability.
2) When I sent it to my personal network of those who I perceive to walk closest to God amongst those I know, Each of the most prayerful and 'in tune' folks came back with a statement--a firm statement--that it bore significant witness with what they've been feeling for some time.
3) My own impressions have grown in the same direction the closer we've gotten to the election. The feeling of something 'looming,' 'impending' has deepened and intensified more than at other times. Oddly, I've also felt closer to God and less anxious personally.
4) This is amidst a call by the very well respected Frances Frangipane for 40 days of prayer and fasting up to the election.
5) The election process has gotten more and more bizarre. The lies from SKERRY's side have gotten more and more brazen. Lehrer's part in the debates was brazenly evil with a smile.
6) I keep feeling we may well have martial law by the election or shortly thereafter.
7) The feelings of some that our way of life as we have known it being over soon--may well be conservative.
8) Part of me has had various levels of such feelings off and on for most of 30 years. So, part of me is still skeptical. It seems lesser and lesser parts of me remain skeptical. Regardless, THE NATION AND THE WORLD HAVE MOVED WHOLESALE ENORMOUSLY CLOSER to such things. And dramatically so in the last few years at an increasing pace and at an increasing level of disorder and trauma.
9) Part of me thinks that SHRILLERY'S comment about an OCTOBER SURPRISE may have come from inside knowledge from the puppet masters of plans already in place.
10) Look up; pray; walk with God; our Redemption is increasingly at hand in dramatically overt respects.

Quix, I'm a follower of the Lord first. You know that. Brother, I happen to agree with you. I was trying to show our friend rightwhale that dreams have a scientific basis and a cycle. They mean something. They have a purpose and they are affected by a variety of factors. I misspoke when I said you were referring to parapsychology. That's not of the Lord. I have never had a "vision," either waking or dreaming. I MAY have seen an Angel once or twice for a split second and during a close call. I have no doubt they exist and they're not a part of parapsychology, either. But based on those experiences, I'm not about to say that the King of Kings isn't showing certain chosen folks what's up!
My daughter has all the 'weird dreams' in this family - nothing new to report.
And I experienced a very grim vision of people who are headed for hell, where the Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart the need to pray for people so they would repent of evil-doing and come to the Lord.
Take it for what you will. I never have visions like that, but when this one came upon me, it came all of a sudden and it was very dark and grim -- I knew instantly, knowing in my spirit, knowing without having to hear the words -- that I was to pray for people so that they would repent of actions that grieve the Lord and come to Him in repentance, that God doesn't want anyone to perish in Hell, and it was impressed upon my heart to pray over this matter.
Don't mean to sound like I'm on a soapbox. This happened to me, and I'm passing it on. I don't want to offend anyone or twist their arms if they don't want to hear about religion. But his happened to me, and here it is.
Quix, can you add me to your ping list. I don't have prophet dreams, but I do believe in it. As you said, scripture says the old will have dreams and the young will have visions etc.
