Email from my Mom (Jeannie)...
Friends & family,
I received this from a friend whose young son has served 3 tours in Iraq. I know there are so many soldiers over there that do not have anyone here at home to hear from. I have asked a friend over there now to please send names of soldiers who need mail. It doesnt matter what your feelings are about this war, our precious troops need our support.
Thanks to those of you who wish to send this soldier a note of encouragement. It doesnt have to be wordy or long. Just for him to be of good faith and courage and to know that we are thinking about him.
Love to all,
Jeannie
Subject: Marine needs e-mail
a Marine in iraq....he is north of Fallujah. He is an Arabic linguist also, and he is the only one. he has to go out on all patrols. Could you email him? He needs positive contact from all of us safe at home.
his email address is :- hm1dan@yahoo.com
please pass that along to all of our Marines.
in your first emails please put in the subject something like "Sierra Vista Marines, or "Friends of your Brother."
he is not having an easy time.
OK, I should have reread my post before posting my second comment. I stand corrected.
Gotcha' covered. See my 44.

I kind of had my tongue in my cheek, sorry it came off as critical......sorry.

You are all awesome!
Done! E-mail sent.
Done.
E-mail done...not sure what to say, but just said what was on my heart and tried to give some form of encouragement. God, it just seems so little, and so feeble.
Sent off a card from Hallmark.com. They have 3 pages of cards for the troops there. But the "Listen Up Troops" card is mine...yall can't have it...lol
Our family would like to adopt anyone serving who needs email and care package support. If someone could make it easy for us to find one or two of these troops, please let us know.
My only concern is that the DUmmies could do as much harm with the email addy as we can do good.
I commend the efforts of you and your family. God bless you all, God bless our soldiers and God bless America.
Thanks Tonk...e mail on the way!!
Bump for later (this is legit, right?)

Check out Adopt A Platoon. They have lots of ways you can help our troops. In fact I recently got an email from them about a platoon that has about 60 females and they are in need of some special help. As a woman I feel strongly that I should respond and am trying to gather some others to help also.
My first soldier that I wrote to was in the 3rd ID and one of the first into Iraq. I met him earlier this year for supper and it was great. You can write and send care packages or just be a pen pal. They will also notify you of special needs situations.
