In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Word is around that Sea Dragon has new handcuffs, so all y’alls behave yourselves, ya hear?

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.

When I stopped at the grocery store on the way home, I saw that they had some of those rubber balls for dogs with squeakers inside, so I got Husky girl one just to see what she would do with it-I never gave her anything that squeaked before because I was afraid she would tear it apart to find the source of the noise, then eat it. Was I ever surprised-she has been playing with the thing ever since I gave it to her. At first when I threw it across the living room, she ran and picked it up, and put it with her stuffed animals. The second time I threw it, she pounced on it and made it squeak, which she really liked. She has since carried it upstairs, and when she had it in the master bedroom I had to get it out from under the bed where she'd swatted it several times. Now she is batting it up and down the loft and chasing and pouncing on it-I'm beginning to think this might have been a mistake-the squeaking is beginning to get on my nerves...

My mother always got squeaky toys for the dogs - one time one of them did get the squeaker thing out after chewing apart the toy.

It was hilarious - she swallowed it and couldn't figure where the squeak was coming when she tried to cough it up!!!!!!

I do not give my dogs squeaky toys because the noise drives me insane!!!!!!

"the noise drives me insane!!!!!!"

I'm certainly beginning to see your point-she has finally stopped chasing that squeaking ball-she's asleep beside my chair with it right in front of her nose. I've got to go check on the fire in the grill-I'm grilling pork chops and fixing scalloped potatoes with cheese, broccoli and salad for supper...

we're having bratwurst, beans and onion rings!!!

Tomorrow is MEXICAN!!!!!!!! Hubby doesn't know it yet! but the b'day card he gave me this evening (Jax insisted it had to be tonight, she didn't want to wait until tomorrow) is an absolute hoot.

It's sort of a half moon shape and is a speckled tan color...."Don't think of this as a mere birthday card" ....... "When filled with meat, cheese, and salsa, you're got yourself a paper taco!"
