Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN ADVISORY #69
[Used in lieu of normal NHC graphic, which was not available.]
DISCUSSION
...IVAN POORLY ORGANIZED...MIGHT STRENGTHEN A LITTLE BEFORE REACHING TEXAS...
IVAN shows little sign of the normal organization associated with a tropical system (maybe because it is really a cut off LP system trying to behave as a tropical system?). There might be some strengthening before it reaches the coast, but the window for that to occur is closing.
IVAN is being steered by the strong mid-level HP center to its north. That center is forecast to weaken over the next 24 hours, and IVAN will slow after it makes landfall.
Rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches are possible along and to the right of the track of IVAN, which may result in life-threatening flash floods.

In the news...
Senator John Effin says that the draft would return if Bush is re-elected.
The Washington Pravda is accusing the Bush campaign of flip-flops since it targets one thing about Kerry, then something else, only to return to the first item.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
The last one on the list reminded me of a cover story I saw at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago in one of the really outlandish tabloids (The Globe, maybe? ... I really don't pay that much attention). There was a picture of a truly humongous lady, accompanied by the headline "I Was Bigfoot's Love Slave and Now I'm Carrying His Baby."
What is really sad to me is that there must be enough people who believe that kind of garbage for the tabloids to keep publishing it and making money. God help us all!
CT, I must add emphasis to what you have said! And, if I have time during the day tomorrow, I may well copy your post to Friday's thread (unless you beat me to it ... *hint! hint*).
I have always wanted to trace my family history but never had the time or resources to do it. Now, through the wonders of computers and the internet, there is a wealth of information available when one is sitting at home in one's PJs, in between finding fault and fraud with the 'rats.
Months ago, I bought a genealogy software program and have spent countless hours trying to find out what I could about my family and hubby's ... to leave as a legacy for our kids and grandkids. It is simply amazing what can be found through some genealogy websites, though registration costs a bit of money.
And then when m-i-l sold her house, we gained possession of quite a few documents that have provided some wonderful tidbits of family history.
But I can find virtually nothing about my own parents or their parents. All of them are gone now and I am regretting so much that I didn't find out more when I had the opportunity. Ironically, I have the ancestry of one of my great-grandmothers traced back to the 1700s (through the research of a great-uncle who was a member of the American Genealogical Society so it's all well-documented) ... and don't know the full names of 2 of my grandparents. I even have the marriage license of my mother's parents ... and it doesn't have my grandfather's full name on it ... just a first name and a middle initial.
Everyone should get all the info they can from their living family members now before the opportunity is lost.
Mornin'.
Thanks for that picture, kay. God bless them all.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Mom is to have a procedure done today that will give the doctors a better understanding of what the valve looks like that needs to be replaced.
Its called a TEE.... which is an ultrasound probe inserted thru the mouth into esophagus and it will allow them to see the heart more clearly.
I'll be going over there later this morning.....so keep praying.
I'll keep praying.
Prayers continue, Jim.
Good morning.
Great picture kayak!
Prayers continue for your mom, Dog.
Oh my. How horrible.
So sad.
We will see him next week.
Hi kass.
How's the foot?
My foot is fine. Has been since the first 6 wks. I am so wanting this hard cast off. 3 more weeks to go.
How are the grandkids?
I'm better and stronger, BUT my throat is raw. So, I'm not finished with it yet. Last night I broke down and used Afrin so I could breath. I find it so easy to become addicted to it. I've switched back to the saline spray for the day.
Grandkids are GROWING! Had one on Wed. and one yesterday. I will do some R&R today after vacuuming up crumbs and eliminating the sticky stuff.
;o)
