Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
CAT I HURRICANE JEANNE ADVISORY #32
DISCUSSION
...JEANNE SOLUTION NOW SOLID...ACTUALLY TO THE LEFT OF NHC TRACK...JEANNE WILL WEAKEN BEFORE REACHING NORTH CAROLINA, HOWEVER...
JEANNE is exiting the anticyclonic loop it has been in for a couple of days. All major models agree on a westward motion and a curve to the north at VT forecast plus five days. NHC has to maintain continuity with previous forecasts, so they admit their track is quite probably insufficiently far enough west. JEANNE will be pulled up into a trough between a HP center to its east and west at VT forecast plus four days.
So we're back to where we were around a week ago--the primary threat appears to be to North Carolina's Crystal Coast and Outer Banks.
Intensity is another issue, however. Dry air appears to be reaching JEANNE from the south and is inhibiting development. There is also shear over the system, which appears to be subsiding. Model guidance suggests a modest increase in strength through VT forecast plus three days, and then a gradual weakening.

In the news...
And in a bizzare new twist to Rathergate, the purveyor of the memos to CBS, Mr. Bill Burkett, plans to sue the network for defamation of character and libel.
Turns out that CBS was supposed to protect the anonymity of Mr. Burkett and "expend both time and money authenticating" the memos they were provided.
Also, Tony Coelho, the former manager of Algore's successful attempt at becoming "the former next President of the United States," stated that the Algore campaign was also verbally given this information, but felt there was "nothing there" so they didn't pursue it.
Also, Mary Mapes, a producer at CBS News, passed the name of Bill Burkett on to the Kerry Campaign, it has been learned.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Says for example, the only time the Dems are interested in the "little guy" is when it's time to get him to the voting both.
Calls K. the Neville Chamberlain of our time...
vis- a-vis evil, the Dems are the Wimp Party, but oh they're big on second-hand smoke if that's your concern! LOL Too true....more from Prager....
I was listening to Glenn Beck this morning tell about the birth of his new adopted son. He and his wife were in the delivery room when the 15 year old gave birth. He said the young girl was in labor for 40 hours. Glenn was watching FNC most of the day. He said after 38 hours the girl couldn't take anymore TV. She looked at the screen and said,
'turn it of, turn it off. I hate that man....he drives me nuts!!
It was Kerry. LOL
Hi, Molly. I don't know who Dennis is, although I've heard his name. Wish I got more talk radio but I'm just glad to get the few people I do.
Kerry is indeed the Neville Chamberlain of his time. And worse.
Some years ago he started his radio show, and off and on I've listened to him via the internet.
With the election, yesterday's latest atrocity, & the President's speech at the UN, it occurred to me to listen to him more in the days ahead.
He has an extremely clear-thinking moral point of view which appeals to me.
Do you want a link.
He's on at the same time as Limbaugh, so I'm listening to the archive of today's show.
40 hours???!! Is this their first adoption? Do they have any other children?? I'm not really "in tune" with Beck, but occasionally check on his show when I'm out in the car.
A link would be great! I hadn't heard he was a D before. Sounds like smart guy. So I can listen to him online even after the show is over it sounds like which is good...something to listen to at night when there's a ballgame on that isn't the Yankees.
Hi, kiddo! Just trying to catch up here, what a deal with CBS, eh? Read the freep report and it felt right at home...
Morally unfunctioning...
Mentions Moore at the Dem Convention, and what that says about the Dems...
It's so good to see you here!!!
Whatcha think??? Ohio looking good for the President???
I listen to him for his sense of humor. He is a bit off the wall.
I switch from Laura to Glenn. They seem to have opposite commercial breaks.
Link coming up....stay tuned...
How have you been? Still doing forklifting and stuff?
Click on the pic for the latest archive, otherwise use the Live link if that's what you're after...
Very interesting about Beck. Normally I just don't listen to so much talk and tv...but the election/campaign news is soooooo compelling.
I believe so, K. He drove by here a few weeks ago. I saw him and gave the W sign and a thumbs-up. Unfortunatly, at lease one of the libs gave him the bird, sheesh. I should have asked him if he would shoot the bird to any of the local cops, as the Prez is the top law enforcement officer but these libs are not the sharpest knives in the drawer if you get my drift!
Yep, full time and all that good stuff. They keep me so busy, I never have time to look at the clock. Stomach growls, must be lunchtime. Get thirsty and grumpy, time for a few cold ones...
Thanks for that link, Molly.
I'm going there now and will save it (right under FR) and will listen...maybe tonight.
Now, as to what I was reading: Thank You, President Bush. It is a collection of essays from all sorts of conservatives...Dick Cheney, Phyllis Schaffly, etc. all explaining how well the President has done. Lots of good stuff.
However, the BEST essay I have read so far is called "Aeschylus and America" by Jack Wheeler.
I will try to explain the theory briefly. Wheeler says that when the Greeks defeated the Perisan fleet (which was an amazing miracle) they became fearful...afraid they would draw the disapproval of the gods. In the Greek culture, excessive success would look like hubris to the Gods and draw their wrath. So the Greeks went into a period of withdrawal and decline.
He believes that this is what happened to us as a culture after the moon landing. He draws great parallels between liberals and savages who think that envy will cause them to fall victim to the evil eye...so they strive to deflect that envy by pouring money into feel-good programs. I am going to take the time to type in this passage because it reflects so well the history of the last 30 years.
America's landing a man on the moon is the single greatest accomplishment in the history of the human race. It was an act of the purest Homeric fearless optimism. And yet after it, America - like Aeschylus and Ancient Athens - had a failure of nerve. Landing a man on the moon was epic heroism on a scale far beyond anything to which any other culture on earth could aspire. It was a pinnacle which left the rest of the human race too far below. Landing a man on the moon, like the defeat of the Persians, was too unbelievably astonishing. It was a feat that placed Americans too far beyond the rest of humanity. The primordial anxiety that the gods would punish us for our succeeding too much caused us to give up.
We gave up going to the moon after the inertia of scheduled Apollo llandings ran out in 1972. We gave up in Vietnam. We gave up in the oil embargo. We gave up against the Soviets and let them colonize South Yemen (1971), Benin (1972), Angola (1975), Mozambique (1975), Ethiopia (1977), Seychelles (1977), Nicaragua (1979), Suriname (1979), Afghanistan (1979), and Grenada (1980). We gave up when the Communist Khmer Rouge committed genocide in Cambodia. We gave up and let Khomeni overthrow the Shah and gave up again when his thugs took American hostages at our embassy in Tehran. We gave up and let our economy collapse in a malaise of inflation and unemployment. We gave up and elected a pathetic nebbish for our President, Jimmy Carter.
He goes on to explain that the failure in Vietnam was a failure caused by our failure of nerve. Ronald Reagan, of course, came to our rescue.
He says this compulsion to not think themselves better than any other country is a peculiarity of liberals, who feel guilty whenever they have more than anyone else...but who do not do anything to bring others up to their level, but rather tear achievers down.
Anyway, it's a very good essay, and it explains a lot about the danger of electing anyone other than President Bush...ESPECIALLY JOHN KERRY.
Wondering what those oil rigs in the Gulf look like? Yikes!http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1223844/posts
