I just viewed the murder of Eugene Armstrong by ISLAMIC TERRORISTS. I am beyond crying. I am furious. I am furious with the spineless, evil, United Nations. I am furious with the coward, John Kerry. Kerry could care less for these men. Screw Kerry. He is a danger. I am sick of his nutty wife. I am sick and tired of the cowards that populate the Democratic party. Sorry. Venting. I can't wait for November.

My prayers go out to Eugene Armstrongs family and all that knew him.

If our networks had the gonads to base a show around the beheadings, something like they used to show GIs about Nazis and Japs in ww2, it would change everything.

We're reliving the days of pre-WWII when the Nazis rose to power --- we studied our history books and shook our heads wondering how Hitler and his aides were ever able to climb to such power, how the Nazis were able to almost take over all of Europe --- but it was the same then as it is now --- a lot of people --- especially liberal types really don't care. Just give them their television shows filled with sex and a few big sports events and they don't care. WWII ended up being so long and so many lives were lost because we didn't respond until very late --- people just wanted to close their eyes to the reality and we're doing that same thing.

Bingo, FITZ -- you hit the nail right on the head. I see Europe's current state and America's reaction to it as amazingly parallel to the world situtation around, say, 1936. There are some differences, of course -- the assymetrical nature of the adversary, and the fact that America got hit big first (otherwise we'd still be totally asleep). But we have the same patterns again in how the Europeans are falling over themselves in fear of the U.S. while the cancer is growing dailing in their own backyards, and how many Americans still do not want to face the truth that this is another battle to the death between cultures, if not nations.

I have argued this point with many people I know in various European nations, as well as Canada and Australia, and they simply refuse to see the evidence of their own eyes. They are simply too brainwashed. To me, they are all walking dead men, and they are going to pay a horrific price before they eventually come begging to us to save their self-righteous asses. Again.

All we have to do is watch and wait, and let them be a living laboratory to the rest of the world. And they will. God help them.

If you go back through this thread you will see many who are appalled and frightened by these beheadings to the point of paralysis.

Paralysis, shock, and awe are exactly the three effects an army desires to inflict upon an opposing enemy force. It was the effect Hitler achieved in his blitzkriegs on Europe and the same effect any good general desires to reach when sending messages to their enemy they now face a ruthless and unbeatable foe.

And there is but one answer that can or must be used in response to the barbaric message of the Islamic jihad - annihilation. Islam seeks no other goal upon it's enemies than annihilation, and no other message will register with Islam.

99% of Americans have never seen a firefight, never been in combat, never been shot or shot at, never seen wounded or dead from any of the above laying next to them or in the streets and have never given thought these things could happen in their own home town.

Also, most don't even want to hear, see, or think about these things as long as they are kept far, far away from them.

As the war veterans of this generation begin to trickle back into our society, and first-hand accounts of what war is all about begin to flow back to the civilian population, hopefully Americans will begin to appreciate more the sacrifices made by our young men and women on the battlefield.

If not, the battlefield can easily come to those who no longer appreciate freedom and by then it would be too late. These are perilous times when we have a real enemy with real intentions on killing as many Americans as possible while Americans don't even know it or don't want to listen when told.

I don't think most people understand this is a religious war, so there is no end in sight. The end will come when one side, us or them, agree to believe in that god.

Their bible, the Koran says to kill infidels (us) until they succumb. If we don't understand that we must have the same gpal, then the fighting will go on forever.

The instance in Falluha, where we backed off is something we should never do. You do not win by alloowing the enemy to regather, re arm and resupply their forces.

Appeasing the enemy will only result in more soldiers of our dying. Since it is unPC to stomp the snot out of them, I do not look for a short war.

Look what it took to end WWII. The H-bomb. The Korean War isn't over yet. Viet Nam is over only because we pulled out of the country in defeat.

That was a site that had posted pics of the 4 U.S. soldiers/contractors in Fallujah that got so much publicity. That website was celebrating about that. The above pic I saved to my desktop before the website was removed (I added the names/captions for clarity).

Probably not. It's going to take something that will once and for all put an end to all our political correctness about this jihad that has been declared on us. 9-11 wasn't enough, almost daily tauntings by videotapes of fresh beheadings isn't enough, even the image of hundreds of murdered school children in Russia isn't enough.

I firmly believe we should stage mass protests every time anybody is beheaded. It would have to be a national effort to be effective. After 9/11 that old toothless woman dancing in the streets torked me off. We need to be raising hell about every head they whack.

Ten thousand will protest terrorists being held in cages on the communist island of Cuba, but not one will bother to show up when one of these outrageous crimes occurs. A hundred thousand will show up to protest basic, sane, common sense legislation such as not giving bonuses to illegal aliens, yet not one will show up to protest a death such as this.

Tell me when and where, and we will be there. We need a national effort when this occurs.
