It happens at some point to every doomed campaign. The candidate, hopelessly behind in the polls and coming down to the wire, starts talking about sensing a "groundswell" of support. The groundswell is never really there, but losing candidates are always able to see it (through the lens of vain self-deception, I suppose) . . . Anyway, the FR pool is: On which date will either Kerry or Edwards first publicly utter the "groundswell" word in this campaign?
Unless, of course, it comes out that the MSM has tinkered with the debates, rigging them in Kerry's favor :)
Only seven days before the end, eh?
It will come in the first Presidential debate. Isn't that September 30?
Oops, I see someone has already taken my date, so I will hone it down. It will come in Kerry's closing remarks during the debate on 9/30.
I submit that the "groundswell" is real - it's swelling up to swallow Cash-and-Kerry's campaign whole!
Not that I'm over-confident. If folks think he doesn't have a prayer (now there's a play on words!), they might not bother going to the polls.
This pool is what's called staying on offense. The worst thing we can do is hunker down and stop taking it to the opposition. We need to keep them on the defensive.
October 15th.
I want new pajamas if I win!
bump
...and another bump since I have money on this!
