I really wouldn't worry. It had terrible ratings it's premiere week and they're likely to just go down from there...but considering that the show is a retelling of the Kennedy's, it's hardly shocking to me.

Well, he is a kid, & the son of a college professor. What do you expect? :-)
I haven't seen the show. What kind of president is he in the flash-forwards? A PC saint? Or something more creative?

It's all okay though...Jack turns out to be a Republican..lol.
But that's not the point, I know. It doesn't seem right that Kerry/Edwards buttons are obviously visible on the screen there. I'm not sure what the rules for "equal time" are. Is WB considered a major network, or a cable network?
Also, I noticed some references to the 2000 Republican campaign, like the polling calls made by Republican(?) staffers to Republican voters saying something like, "If you knew that John McCain fathered an illegitimate child, would you be more or less likely to vote for him?"

Had to listen to this from another room as others in the house were watching. I couldn't believe it (well actually given the tone of the show, I really didn't have that hard of a time believing) when the kid gets busted for pot in his locker, the first thing out of the mom's mouth was something along the lines of, "I want to know if this was part of searching everyone's lockers or did you single out my son for this." Sheesh, lady, what kind of mom are you!? That is NOT the first thing I'd be asking nor who I'd be laying into.

The Kerry Edwards buttons are ridiculous.
But what is the deal with the hair? What kid wears his hair like that today? In the movies/TV, why do they (almost)always show little boys with longish hair, covering half their ears? To make them look, what? More 1970's? More girlish? I don't get it it.

I'm sure that Christine Lahti (Jack and Bobby's mother) will soon be complaining about how this administration is wrong in everything it does and alienates everyone it knows...

I flipped by the WB on the way to CourtTV (while I read an Elizabeth Peters novel, just for good measure), so other than agreeing that the buttons were gratuitous and unnecessary, I won't comment.
Kids do wear their hair like that though. My son's almost 13 and I'd say half the kids in his grade have long hair that covers their ears (hippie hair, my dad calls it). The other half has buzz cuts, so go figure. Everything 70s is back in style, I hear.
But maybe you have a point with the "more girlish" thought. I suppose it makes boys look less threatening or sexual - or so the dimwitted producers, etc. think. Personally, I think it just makes them look like greasy slackers, but that's just me.
