The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Morning, all. Am at work, but there's nothing to do here. I'm going to try fixing my code while the distractions are minimal.

The restraunt is on the 52nd floor- he doesn't do elevators so they're taking the stairs. *sigh*

LOL!! That's a GOOD one. I think that chick is kin to Francis Ford Coppola. Check the credits at the end, but I think Coppola is her last name.

My weeks are usually so busy that I can never keep track of tv series. I always forget what nite they're on. Marathons are great, 'cuz I can catch a whole season in a day.

I'd watch the Monk marathon, but I'll be at work from 3 to 11PM. Oh well, at least it's 110% holiday pay.

You need TiVo! My parents have that. It's very handy if there are shows you like that you can't reliably see.

TiVo sounds like a great idea, but I don't think I can handle another gadget in the stack of TV components. (it's actually an *excellent* idea given all the ballgames we watch)

It's small - similar dimensions to a VCR - and very, very easy to use. Literally point-and-click interface. You can even set it up to record every episode of a show, and then watch them when you have time - imagine a personal Monk marathon once a month, or so!

Do you know what a "day light" basement is? We don't do too many basements in NC.

It's only partially underground. Probably has windows.

It may look like half of a floor sticking up above ground. The main floor is built on top.
