The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hmm, didn't you say he has girl-type friends? If they can get him on roller coasters, they should be blackmail material...

I certainly wouldn't describe my hunting as "crawling through the brush on my belly with a shotgun"...

those were specific instances, as part of a stalk, when I knew that deer were on the other side of an area with low brush, and the only way to get at them was to crawl...

fer Kerry to describe his hunting that way is assinine... there's no way I'd just crawl around blind hopin' tuh bump intuh somethin'...

True enough, have learned many lessons in life so far, the challenge is to remember them at the appropriate time.

PE: babygirl is a real cutie.

G'nite folks.

Night...

Good heavens, I'm having a reasonable discussion about homeschooling with a partisan...

Roger that. I guess it simply continues to amaze me that there are people sufficiently available to buy into his line of bullcrap. It does in fact boggle the mind.

They don't, most of the ones I know. They're voting for Kerry because they hate Bush, or hate what we've done in Iraq.

I know, I know, but I know people - young "men" - who are voting Kerry because they think Bush is going to get us into war with Iran and the draft will come back.

Needless to say, I can't remember why I thought a university was a good place to meet guys. Half of them are furriners and the rest are metrosexuals at best.

Good grief! It looks like the Gold Coast is gonna get hammered again! I'm sure they've enjoyed Hurricane Season about as much as they can stand!

Yah... understood. Those factions exist quite apart from any "actual" need for them. They were around when I was in college in the first half of the 80's... even though we didn't have anything all that significant going on back then. It seems to me that its merely a reprise of the "Che" t-shirt crowd. The guys are there only because the girls in the crowd are suckers for the "movement".

It's a racket. It's just precisely that shallow.

Sometimes, I'm glad I went to an engineering university... no time for politics.

Heh, I'm in a CS department and there's still politics. Mild stuff, and I don't get hatemail... yet... but they're all Democrats.

BTW: We won't have to get into a war with Iran. That's a mere red herring. Iran is going to fall on its own. 2/3 of Iran's male population is under the age of 30, and they're plenty tired of the mullahs.

On another note: there won't be a draft here. Mainly because we don't need it. Enlistment quotas are being met and then some. This is ia false issue raised by democrats just to scare people.

School I went to, students were either studying or getting drunk. Never both at the same time, though.

Logic doesn't work on libs. They're afraid, of the draft because that's what young libs have been taught to be afraid of.

I could say exactly what you say, back it up with facts, and no good.
