SG-1 is the only show on the air officially approved by the US military from what I hear. They've had several real life AF staff members appear on the show. I believe Ryan was asked by R. D. Anderson if there were any colonels in the USAF like O'Neill and Ryan replied, "Yes... and worse." ;)
