I think he's going to fall into the Al Gore trap--Kerry thinks he is SO much smarter than Bush.

In fact...he may be.

But that's not what being president is about--it's about being able to analyze a situation--legislation, national emergency--and come up with a response.

Kerry doesn't even think about this kind of thing. He just thinks "I'm obviously RIGHT and anyone with a BRAIN will see this and vote for me!"

This is precisely what Michael Dukakis thought. And, it's similar to what GHW Bush thought, too--"No one is going to vote for this smarmy draft dodger."

I think Bush is steady. People have been screaming "The sky is falling!" around here for no reason I can see. Bush is steady--that's the way he IS.

Kerry is trying to come off as both a Dean-esque rabble-rouser and also a strong leader.

In truth, he is neither. His senate career is of one who FOLLOWS--he has no significant legislation with his name on it--not a crime in itself, but if you want to lead the country, it shows a dearth of initiative. And as a rabble-rouser, he is lacking in energy.

I just think Bush has to be who he is. Kerry can't do that because no one would vote for that. When he and Bush debate, Bush will be his usual self--he comes across as comfortable in his skin.

That won't work for Kerry because when he tries that, he gets so laid back he almost falls over. No one wants THAT to lead us in these times.

Kerry wants the job because he wants the job; Bush wants the job because he wants to DO the job. So, to get some energy going, to please the Mikey Moore contingent...Kerry will say something stupid. And then he's finished.

I ask you ,,,who in his right mind would be seen in that bunny suit, strapped to a wind surfing kite, and on a colour coordinated bike ride....not to mention ballancing on the train rail and numerous attempts at smooching Terressa....the ultimate dork and no-hoper

He was a womanizer in the Senate for 13 years. He had a great time and did no heavy lifting in the Senate.

But once he married Teresa this came to a stop. With maybe one or two brief fleeting exceptions. This is my read of the situation. I doubt Kerry was ever a pig about sex the way Clinton is.

The same way you knew when Dean had his moment: instead of telling your friends "Kerry's crazy" they'll be telling YOU "Kerry's CRAZY!!!!!"
