The Alan Keyes Nonproliferation Thread
FreeRepublic ^

Posted on 08/14/2004 9:11:25 AM PDT by EveningStar

There are now approximately 100 threads on FR concerning the Alan Keyes Senate run. Since this is about 99 more than we really need at FR for such a nonevent, I've decided to offer a service, free to all FReepers. I have performed a search using the keyword "Keyes." You no longer have to start a new thread on your hero. Instead, you can go here and select an existing thread.

There! Isn't that much better?

It wasn't me that brought this up. Ask those that did. You asked for a explanation for "kool-aid". I gave it. It doesn't mean I was defending their position or agree with it.

I didn't think you were.

It was obvious that you were explaining it.

I have already asked something similar with no answer.

Like I told the one who started this thread, Its obvious to me what bothers him about Keyes.

What? You proposing a black out? The media will do that for you. They like to keep the black (Republican) out.

To me, it's disheartening that so many folks on this board think that the Keyes candidacy is a good idea.

Sometimes you got to throw the long pass. The GOP's big problem is that they usually play it safe. Of course when you play big you can win or lose big.

His self centeredness.

I don't think there will be many if any who hear his message and change their minds and hearts. Obama may say some things that could really change your mind on something that you've held near and dear for ages, but because of what he represents in total you wouldn't or won't hear. Same for those who will hear Dr. Keyes.

Such a nonevent that you took the time to post this thread, eh?

I see. So you mispoke when you called it a "nonevent."

It shouldn't be suprising to see support for Keyes on a forum owned by a Keyester, by the way.

You started out describing the Keyes candidacy as "a nonevent" and issued a plea for no more threads. Yet later you go on to say "It's far from boring".

On this thread you've claimed "he's a nutbar"..."their Man of La Mancha". Yet, "If I lived in Illiois, I would vote for Keyes."

Are you sure a second person hasn't gained access to your username account? If it's actually you who's made all these posts, you appear to be a walking contradiction.

Thanks for starting another Keyes thread. I can't read enough about his campaign.

I have more faith than you do.

There are some wonderful family value blacks who have just been misled.

What Alan Keyes represents in total is probably what they are truly looking for.

He will make sense to them.

And when I said "self-centered", I wasn't saying he is any more that way then most politicians.

It's not really a contradiction. To me, Obama's leftist ideas are far more dangerous.

I have to disagree. I will agree that anyone who aspires to power, whether it be someone from a factory floor who wants to be a supervisor to a campaign worker who aspires to be an elected official, there is a larger amount of ego involved. But Alan's is almost to the point of being vulgar. It's unchecked or if it is, then it's even worse than I can imagine.

I won't disagree that most of his message is better than the one Obama will put forward. I won't disagree that there are many blacks who need not just lead away from nothing but handouts is the solution to their problems. But it will take more than just a cocky self assured man who cloaks his ego in the words of the Declaration, slavery and analogies to the bible to awaken what is necessary for them to come closer to participating in the American way of life.

I probably should have called it a mis-event instead of a nonevent. :D

So, are you saying Jim Robinson is a Keyester?

"There! Isn't that much better?"

No, it is NOT much better. Upon checking your list, I see that the threads are referenced to various news sources and articles. I'm sure that many, like myself, do not monitor threads for the main topic such as "Keyes," but rather have an interest in how stories develop, how various sources or reporters actually write their articles (i.e. what bias or slant is included) and lastly don't know in advance what the news is, so they APPRECIATE having articles posted as they develop SO THEY CAN FIND OUT WHAT THE NEWS IS! May I have an AMEN?

Hey...Don't knock him. You can count me as one who has come down solidly pro-life since I heard Keyes' reasoning on the subject.

I understand, though, about your pessimism about the electorate, but let's ride this thing out and see what happens.

I was just wondering because "koolaid" is a term that the liberals always throw at us. When they call us koolaid drinkers, I refer to them as Heinz Ketchup-suckers.

It's like nazi.Specifically that nazi's were socialists, and they use that slur to distance themselves from the connections. the dirty little secret about Jones town is that it was a U.S. government funded experiment in socialism.
