Do we really want to see Britney onstage with her antics? Yes. I'd prefer Christina Aguilera, but you take what you can get!

Hmmm...so I see. In some ways, I am this way. I do find the show funny, and consider it a guilty pleasure. Not a smoker though and I am not non-religious. Really I am more of a Ted Nugent Republican.
Why isn't the Nuge invited to the convention?

Forget about Spears, who i wouldn't trust to not suddenly flip right before the election and come out with a story about how she regrets having performed at the Republican convention and that she'll vote for Kerry instead. In my opinion country singer Sara Evans would be a great choice.

A lot of it is, I bet, for the sake of the delegates attending. Prolly be a bit more exciting to be able to meet n' greet with the celebs.

Oh, that miserable song!
Ive heard jingles for handsoap that were more inventive.

Conservatives enjoy heavy metal music too. Just ask Rightgrrl founder Carolyn Gargaro.

I think Britney would bring some excitement and press to the convention, something the Democrat convention certainly was lacking. Turn your back on the popular culture and the culture will turn its back on you. Don't be fooled, the girl still has an awful lot of folks who take her very seriously. This might even help her straighten out a little. We can't get by just on Wayne Newton and Arnold Schwarzenegger forever, celebrities can help in many little ways.

Brooks and Dunn already declined citing "impartiality". To modify a quote from Michael Jordan, "Democrats buy records too..."

I also don't have a problem with Brittany being there. We need YOUTH votes, too. If some see her there for Bush, we'll get a few more votes. Some conservatives are a bit too stuffy, IMHO. Besides, we don't even know if this is true. It's a rumor at this point.

Since she can't dance (knee injury) for now, she'd most likely be stationary and sing. And I'm sure she'll be told to tone it down a bit, not to embarrass herself or the Party.
