Review:
More than seventy-five books attacking George W. Bush have been published so far. Now, finally, theres a book that sets the record straight against a backdrop of media bias. And its not by a conservative idealogue but by an award-winning independent reporter who set out to find the real President Bush behind the two-dimensional public image.
Ronald Kessler was granted unique access to the West Wing and interviewed the key players of the Bush administrationfrom Condoleezza Rice to Karl Rove to the president himself. Kessler also interviewed Bushs close friends, college roommates, and former aides.
His surprising conclusion: George W. Bush isnt the most articulate or scholarly president in history, but he scores very high on the factors that count most: character and leadership. President Bush has a more clearly defined moral instinct, management style, and self-awareness than any other recent president.
And without question, President Bush is the driving force behind his administration, not the pawn of anyone else. In an age when politicians notoriously hem and haw while trying to please everyone, he makes deft decisions very quickly. He is bolstered by his strong Christian faith and the resolve he gained after giving up alcohol.
For many swing voters, this election will boil down to a matter of character. Kesslers unconventional bookfilled with news hooks about life in the West Wingwill help them understand the real George W. Bush. And for readers who already support the president, A Matter of Character is the book theyve been waiting for.
'A Matter of Character' is #2 at Amazon.
Thank you for the ping. It is nice to see my intuition and belief confirmed after spending an afternoon with an arrogant group of Bush haters.
"His surprising conclusion: George W. Bush isnt the most articulate or scholarly president in history, but he scores very high on the factors that count most: character and leadership. "
Exactly why is this surprising? It's been obvious to me from day 1, when Bush declared he is running for the presidency, and he proved it many times over since then.
Just finished reading "A Matter of Character" -- EXCELLENT!
You know a book is worth reading when it BEGINS AS FOLLOWS:
"When Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton left the White House, the Secret Service and White House residence staff breathed a collective sigh of relief. Both chameleons, the Clintons would charm audiences and speak on television of their compassion for the little people. Only the "little" people around them -- the Secret Service, maids, and butlers who helped them in their daily lives -- knew what they were really like."
And ENDS AS FOLLOWS:
"No one could have anticipated the peril that America would face during the presidency of George W. Bush. Yet no one could have been better suited to confronting that peril. It required vision, courage, patience, optimism, integrity, focus, discipline, determination, decisiveness, and devotion to America.
IT WAS, IN THE END, A MATTER OF CHARACTER."
We are winning ~ the bad guys are losing ~ trolls, terrorists, democrats and the mainstream media are sad ~ very sad!
Thanks for the ping.
This book is coming out at exactly the right time in the campaign.
I'll be ordering it along with 'Unfit For Command'
Thanks for the ping. I'll be flying this week; nothing gives me more pleasure than to walk through an airport holding a copy of a pro Bush book, angled just so. It reaffirms the base, and drives the other side nuts. LOL
Another book for my must-have list. Thanks for the flag.
