The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

OT glad to hear that, whew, no 'seefood' whilst there would have been wrong on so many levels.

LSA & I may need to schedule in some 'beach time' this year, been far too long.

Hey 2J,

I've been having some odd trouble breathing lately - mostly I just feel like I'm short on breath occasionally. Today I had to run flat-out for about two minutes to make a bus, and I still feel it in my chest. I was wondering if it might possibly be from the altitude? How long should it take to adjust to something like that?

I haven't gotten any Dem crap, and I'm still getting Heifer stuff. Where else have you been? ;o)

*sigh*

And I thought the rotteness was over, too. I was going to bring some oatmeal just to a boil so it'd be ready tomorrow (it's the yummy steelcut kind and takes FOREVER to cook), and of course it HAD to boil over and all over the stove and everywhere.

I have yet to see Seabiscuit. I'll probably hafta watch it alone...no one else is interested! But it sounds good to me.

Sounds like it might be the altitude...but I don't know anything about that kinda thing off the top of my head.

Well, get some rest, Rosie, feel better.
Guess I'll skip the movie, though.

Got sandblasted real good on Saturday, but the hike through the audubon place and the sunset over the bay made up for it.

Well, I figured you were a good place to start. I'll see what I can come up with. Maybe I'll stop in at the campus health center.

That's a GOOD idea...doesn't hurt to have these things looked at. I just never have dealt with altitude problems so I don't know much.

Keep me posted...

It's more than likely the altitude, sis.

You may be experiencing altitude sickness, made worse by your low-carb diet.

Is this because of a class he didn't pass last quarter?

See, that's where it gets tricksey.

The rule says:

The student shall have passed five subjects offered for credit and which may be used for graduation for the immediately preceding semester, and shall be enrolled in five credit subjects for the current semester.

Last spring he passed five subjects, failed two. Last fall he passed six subjects, failed one.

There may be some different weighting of the classes since two were PE and band. BUT, it doesn't say that anywhere.

Strictly by the letter of the law, he ~should~ be eligible.

Particularly since we went to such great pains to set up a program to work with him here at home (the redoing of the room factored into all of that).

What really pi$$e$ me off tho, is that he passed the standardized test for Earth Science. If we were homeschooling, he would get the credit towards graduation. But he has to pass the actual class in public school.

He is understandably crushed. I don't think he ever considered this would be a problem

Well, look at the bright side; you and the missus weren't the ones who put the brakes on football. He's learning an important lesson, though with great pain.

Yeah, it's just I've been here for over three weeks, and I'm not that high - only about 5000 feet - so I don't know.

Getting it checked out can't hurt, though.
