Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
EGE; ah, much better pics, still id'em though :-) had the M-1 carbine years ago, enjoyed it, believe I traded it for a Rem 788 in .308.
Ditto to all your knife sentiments!
I'm glad we both go it, same day, or one of us would be very jealous right now.
Does he play baseball?
Take him outta school, homeschool him, put him in a homeschool baseball team! Almost all homeschool organizations have at LEAST a baseball team. Ours has a baseball and basketball and TRACK team. I think they play flag football too...but that probably wouldn't interest Jr...
Now we can both practice our *snap, click* at the same time.
And it make such a dandy letter opener for office or home use as well. :-)
OT: glad you made it made back and had a great time, "No Meat" surely that can't include 'steamah, labstahs, or chodaw', can it?
btw Tornado watch for Douglas County. - Welcome Back.
Sounds like a great outfit - you'll do fine. LSA
Hi...just checking in before bed.
Had a yucky day where nothing went right. My kitchen sink is ALMOST not leaking now, though. Guess that's positive, sort of.
One brother came over and we watched Hidalgo. Eh...didn't care for it that much. I know a long race doesn't leave a lot of room for extra plot, but I was still kinda disappointed. Ride...fight...ride...get thirsty and almost die...ride...fight some more...ride...etc. It's a lonnng movie!
Pretty horsies, though. And such.
It's not like he needs anything else to do. We were going to sign him up for percussion lessons (he already plays in band), but couldn't because the times available conflicted football. He wants to play in the church dodgeball league in October/November. And rehearsals for Christmas start in about a month.
But you have to understand that football is his dream. His goal is to play for Virginia Tech, then go pro.
Seriesly, wife and I have no illusions that he'd make it that far. But we were letting him dream.
A letter opener...yeah, that's the ticket.....
I love this thing!
I was vey good to myself after Gulf War I; I had the better part of six month's pay stacked up in the bank (plus taxes I didn't have to pay 'cuz of combat, plus hazardous duty pay, minus only car payments and small purchases in Saudi Arabia); I bought, among other things, the M1 Carbine and a Chinese SKS. Later, when stationed in Texas, I went looking for an '03, and found that one...took a little work to restore it to it's original look.
Sorry to hear you had a rotten day, Rosie!
Tomorrow can only get better. :-)
Hidalgo is a good horse movie. End of story.
Seabiscuit is far better.
Bless his heart.
Well, I guess the Hole will be movin' again soon...
Corin - Does being 'out' of football mean all the sports? Soccer? Cross - Country? Golf? Pumping Iron? I would think any of those would be good for tryouts next year. Okay, the golf is a stretch. :-)
Nahhh....seafood (or in my case, seefood) was on the menu. My cousin is doing egg, cheese, seafood, bread, and pasta...all with veggies, of course. Someone left chicken nuggets in the freezer, so he grilled them for us (since he's tearing down the cabin soon so he can build his retirement "palazzo".) He wanted to know how our meat was.
I didn't get chowdah, but I did get the steamahs, and lahbstah. Mmmmm.....saltwater crawdads!
Oh....and saw a couple of good-sized skunks crossing the yard.
Sorry about the football thing. Is this because of a class he didn't pass last quarter? That's hard. Will be hard for him to stay with it enough to get back in.
I feel for him.... I am not good at stuff I don't like to do either. And permanent consequences for a kid is rough if he can't find the motivation to change now.
Sorry about your lousy day, Rosie. Get some rest. Tomorrow won't be Monday.
I think I'll have some chicken...
At the school, yes. It's actually a Virginia High School League rule, not just the school.
Yeah - moving sometime soon.... when no one is looking ;~D
