The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hey, Scott...how are you? Tell your sweet spouse hello from me! Tell her I'm having herbal tea with stevia.

I got some Soy-Flaxseed tortilla chips at Trader Joe's today, and they are VEY good, but definitely a snack only enjoyed infrequently! Here's a comparison of carbs between Trader Joe's regular tortilla chips and the soy-flaxseed ones.

Regular: 1oz serving, Total Fat 6 g, Sat Fat .5, Total Carbs 19g, Dietary Fiber 2g Protein 2g

Soy-Flaxseed 1oz. serving, Total Fat 8g, Sat Fat 1g, Total Carbs 13g, Total Dietary Fiber 5g; Soluble Fiber 1g, Insoluble Fiber 3g, Protein 6g

Hi Ladies...we been really busy (which is why I've only showed up briefly here in the last couple of weeks). Mostly its that crazy job demanding most every moment...and some is our great summer weather (you all remember that, right?) taking my time that isn't spent at work.

Mrs. is doing well (she's off with my mom right now, this being Thursday, and is getting back late, I guess...haven't heard since I've come home). I got her a great bouquet of flowers at our Farmer's Market this afternoon, so she'll get a nice surprise when she does show up. Dogs are good...but they want me to take them out for a run. All's much the same.

Ramen! Food of the Gods it is! There are just sooo many ways to fix it. I've lived for years at a time on little else but Ramen. I once threatened to write a Ramen cookbook about all of the possible ways to fix it. There's Ramen with Ketchup. Ramen with eggs. Ramen with tomato soup... the possibilities are endless... :-)

One of my favorites remains: Ramen, dry and uncooked, split the layers apart and apply copious amounts of peanut butter and hot sauce. Serves one. :-)

Who says bachelors can't cook? :-)

I'm here. Balancin' the checkbook.

We have less toilet paper, napkins and paper towels in the house than I have unrecorded ATM receipts from the Missus...

I remember dreaming on your couch that that it was raining...reminds me of this:

"It was the sound of water that Merry heard falling into his quiet sleep: water streaming down gently, and then spreading, spreading irresistibly all round the house into a dark shoreless pool."

It was just your sprinkler system. Then I woke up in the morning thinking it was like 9:27am and it was really, what? 6am? It was your cable channel I saw...927. Or something like that.

I thought we were going to be late getting OT.
