Here's a good one..first met the girly man on match.com. But this morning one of the local radio stations reported that according to a match.com poll, their users are overwhelmingly pro Kerry. Like by over a 20% difference.

And about the same numbers in a poll as to whether they would rather eat dinner with Lurch and the Ketchup Queen or President and Mrs. Bush. No thank you!

But thanks for info. I appreciate your good thoughts.

I'm holding out for Laura Ingram. Ann is a bit too skinny for me ;-)

I met my husband on one of the online dating services and we just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. We were in our mid-40's when we married. I think it's amazing what short summary paragraphs can say about a person. My husband's son had just told him that he needed to "sex" up his paragraph because he'd never meet anyone with his "boring" one. I wasn't interested in hearing about the walks along the beach, etc. But I was interested in hearing about his religion and his career. That told me much more than the schmaltzy stuff. I was right. He doesn't focus on himself. We emailed for a month before we met personally, so I knew something of his character. We took our time and then got married a year to the day we first met online. Best 7 years of my life.

Sorry to hear abaout your experience. I had a stalker I met in high school who was from a good family and all stalk me for years. It didn't stop until he got married after college. Stay safe!!

All I can say is that I looked around at the girls when in high school, then the women when I was in college and those out there now that I am in my 30's, and they just weren't worth the effort then or now. Feminism has corrupted them.

I third that! Normally, I don't scroll down to read other posts so they don't prejudice me in my replaies but I happened to see that somebody already called "seconds."

Keep trying. You sound like a wise and reasonable man. I'm your age and I appreciate men who aren't turned on by young women. Children can be a problem. My husband had a 19 year old son and I had a 12 year old daughter when we married. We thought my dau would be the problem and she has not been at all. To be sure, our children were our greatest problem--plus religious differences and political difference have had their impact. (Yes, he's a democrat). But his son finally moved out and my daughter is a joy, to him too. I hope that you meet your mate.

I tried online dating and find the biggest problem are married men. I'll bet women misrepresented themselves in the looks department. A lot of women are afraid they'll get rejected for being heavy or whatever but I've never done that.

So match.com is infested with Democrats? ugh. That's good to know. I'm from Massachusetts and it seems the majority are liberal. I had to go to North Carolina to find my true love. I did read somewhere that eharmony was a good place for conservatives. I think it was developed to match people on values.Probably the best thing is to do what you love - antique cars, fishing, sailing. No needlepoint or visiting museums - you want to meet a straight male. One really good way to meet men is to look for a good used car. Most of the time it is men who are selling their cars and you can see how they treated their car. It says a lot about the person.

How much of an effort are you worth? Honestly you think girls are the only thing feminism has corrupted! LOL men are more spoiled now than ever.

I suspect the Ann Coulters, Laura Ingrahams and Rush Limbaughs of the world are very difficult mates. I love them all as radio hosts, but their trade demands being very opinionated. That comes over very well across radio waves, but not in a marriage. I would much rather have someone who puts the marriage first and is willing to listen to my opinions too. That type of person also makes a better parent. Sounds like you are one too.

My husband met one woman online who sounded very nice, so they met for lunch. She had lied about her weight; he said that she had to be in access of 300 pounds. It made a difference to him because he's very active and likes to get out and do things. She could barely walk. Didn't you go and meet someone over Christmas. CA maybe? How did it go?

Yeah I know I know.. it'll be all about how women suck and its all our fault LOL Feminism was the key to the immoral, sexual candy store that many men were waiting for anyway.

Laura Ingraham said herself that dating is hard with her kind of profession. Aside from being opinionated, the schedules and the intrusions into the personal life can be hard.

I am SO sorry to hear that. How awful! Was she surprised? I had an incident similar to that about 20 years ago, but it took me a long time to discover it.

Well considering the beach was packed that day, I consider it divine intervention *LOL* I'll not be so starved for a man's approval that I'd be that blind again. And yes she was surprised not as surprised as me! LOL

I was divorced 24 years ago. Every woman I've met since then is either in therapy....or should be. I'm still single, but hoping for a miracle sometime prior to age 95.

That's esp. true here in New York. I'm not in therapy though :D but it's very trendy to have a 'Frazier' in one's pocket.
