I seem to have adopted a stray kitten as an indoor cat. I've never had a cat in my life! (I do have a Jack Russell Terrier.) What do I do now?!

I had a beloved cat declawed many years ago, and I will never forgive myself. She really suffered. It's like cutting your fingers off at the first knuckle. It's cruel. That's why I suggested in earlier posts that you get more than one scratching post - cats can be taught to use those and to ignore the furniture. Although I've had cat scratches, none have been deep or serious, and none have ever gotten infected.

While I've never had a cat do that, I did have a cat york up a hairball right in my husband's pager charger. It was on the floor near an outlet, and for some reason, that cat decided that that was the spot to cought it up.

I have a cat that goes in and out and he insists on a litter box.... I really wish he'd take his business outdoors.. =o)

I've even tried not cleaning it... It doesn't bother him....

That appears to be pretty unusual. Most cats I've known of don't much care for a dirty litterbox.
