Latest Pew Research Poll
Posted on 07/22/2004 5:13:56 AM PDT by American100
Did any of you get a chance to read about the latest Pew Research Poll conducted July 8-18th? It's on the cover of Newsmax.
The poll basically says that Democrats are trending upwards as they head into the convention next week. Kerry is tied with Bush on Foreign Policy issues and he's thumping Bush on the economy. Yet the race is still a dead heat...
Your thoughts...

Kerry is a lying scumbag. I think that about covers all the relevant thoughts I have at this time. Not erudite, I'm sure, but pretty pithy, and it'd fit on a bumper sticker.

My thoughts....When the American public discovers Kerry was a Vietnam vet at the convention....we're done for.
Other than that me thinks you're a meathead troll.

Pew Research is a very liberal group - some of the younger sons of that august/elite group were spreading 'rumors' about having a drunk for a president, and other ridiculous little jabs meant to be passed around and bring discredit to President Bush....I don't trust them for accurate statistics

I guess it's true, then.
Kerry didn't get much of a bump from naming Edwards as his running mate.

The liberal press will lie with their polls until just before the election, than to save face they become more acturate. This is done in hopes of swaying voters to their side, (people wanting to back the winner), then they have to save face and report it correctly

I was noticing the same thing .. the Polls have seemed to disappear this week. Almost as if they don't want anything to compare the post convention polls with.

Kerry will be shredded in the home stretch, for those who still think he might be okay, but aren't sure. After all his vague complaints about the liberation of Iraq, he takes the position that US troops will stay there at least through 2008 if he's elected. That is a position that couldn't be more stupid to take. If that's his idea of flushing out the White House, he must be on hard drugs. Gay marriage? Bush sez "amendment", which is the only course that is sure. Kerry sez, oh, let the states decide what to do, but don't for god's sake let the states decide how to spend block grants. Granholm, the Canadian-born ambulance chaser who (until early 2007) is governor of Michigan, has alienated (so far) state employees, smokers, conservatives, and Republicans. Any problem with the budget, "it's the outgoing Engler administration." The budget used to be NOT out of whack, but that was when Republicans were a majority in both houses and in the gov's mansion. Gay marriage, Michael Moore's libels, and Gov Granholm's assorted BS has helped GWB here.

As I posted on some other threads, I got Pew to fax me the breakdowns on their two polling waves by registered voters:
-------------Wave 1 (Sep9-01)-- Wave 2 (Sep 11-14)
Republican-------- 35% ----------------- 33%
Democrat---------- 31% ----------------- 37%
Independent------- 29% ----------------- 26%
No Preference------ 3% ------------------ 2%
Refused------------- 3% ------------------ 2%
So there are almost 20 percent MORE democrats in the second wave. NO WONDER the results are so different.
Why isn't the MSM reporting this?
As Paul Harvey would say, "Now you know the REST of the story."
