Westy, the stand with the monkey also sold pics of persons with the monkey on their lap. It was not the other one that I mentioned. I would not compromise my elegant southern belle with a gun plan to having a monkey sitting on my lap for a pic. LOL

Resty, why is it that every time I mention southern, you have to bring up the War of Northern Aggression?

Westy, you should have seen and heard the fiddlers contest this afternoon. Oh my, the huge tent was packed. Fiddlers from every age from elementary school to old timers compete and they play the old songs, you know.
My daughter was in the string music band for six years in Jr High and Senior High. She played the violin, but never became a fiddler. LOL I still have her violin/fiddle hanging over the mantel on our stone fireplace.
Oh, I think I have one more picture of the fair just for you. If you ever farmed, you would have probably ridden one of these. There were over a hundred antique tractors there as usual. On the first day of the fair, they have a contest to see who can pull the most weight.

Never had anything to do with farms...First real job I ever had was building airplanes...Then got involved with them in the Service...And went back to airplanes after I got discharged.....My Dad was mainly a hard rock miner although he did do coal mining at times...
You know what..I haven't flown in a plane since I got out of the Air Force....lol

Oh yes, I remember now you saying what work your father did.
And why have you not flown in an airplane since you got out of the Air Force? Since you built 'em, do you know something we should know? LOL

Think I probably got a belly full of flying during my tours of duty..Ceases to be 'fun' after a while...
They are probably still being built well, though I've heard rumors that Boeing is having trouble getting quality work out of it's people these days...But that's only rumor....

Resty, why is it that every time I mention southern, you have to bring up the War of Northern Aggression? I was on the VetsCor forum an saw some one did a lot of search and reported on this topic and thought it might be something you would like be aware of nothing else I am always sharing when I come across an artical or topic I know some one has an interest!
I wasn't thinking of aggression I was thinking of history!

It takes three buckets to load these CAT 793 trucks...240-tons. Check out the access ladder...I tried to get my boss to stand in front of the truck for scale. Why do you get to play with all the cool toys??!!
It's raining!!! This is the first rain we've had since, um, April I think. We didn't even have any thunder showers this summer. It's cool and rainy! I love it! I might just have to go for a walk in it. Of course, about January, I'll be really sick of it.

It stopped for a while, then started up again. I can see patches of blue sky, though. I hope it stops, because I plan to go to the Lafayette Art & Wine festival this afternoon. At least it won't be hot. Usually it's just brutally hot for the festival, and drinking all that wine in the heat, well, it's just not that pleasant!

Oh, BTW, I think of you when I'm out popping pigeons with a pellet gun. The da** things are roosting on a beam in front of the house, and just won't leave. So I'm getting a little target practice. I think of you, because you have mentioned the "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" tune by, um, what's 'is name. I considered poisoning them, but we have too many other desirable birds coming around the yard.
