Isn't that the truth. I was one of these kids that had to know why I wasn't supposed to do something. "Because I said so" never struck me as an adequate explanation, so I had a tendency to find out for myself. Hmmm....wonder why I'm not supposed to play with matches. Wonder what happens if I play with razor blades. Why shouldn't I go play in the deep end?

Our county fair started last night and goes through Saturday. I kinda want to go, but then I don't. It's just not the same without kids.

"I'm surround by "Kerry-Edwards" cars. I'm also seeing more of these little ovals that say "Dem" in the center, and then "Dyed in the Wool Democrat" and "Victory 2004" in small letters on the margin."

I want so badly to have on hand some harmless "modifiers" to add to some of those signs and stickers when I see them.....like, "I'm an idiot," or "here's your sign." Or, I saw this billboard today that had "vote democrat" in huge red letters, with the names filled in and the check boxes next to them. I wanted to put one of those circles with a slash through it or, at the very least, make the RAT in democRAT in caps of a different color.

I always had to know the 'why' of everything.
That's how I learned about 220AC current as well.

I had many "adventures" as a result. You'd think my mama would have learned that she could have saved everybody a lot of grief if she'd have just given me an acceptable answer when I asked why.

I always got the "cause I said so" answer, and then the lights would dim, there'd be a loud bang, smoke, or all three at the same time.

I discovered electricity could be fun, and painful, when I had a lamp plug fail to insulate properly and shocked me bad enough that I couldn't move.

As the Gulf Coast was being battered, the wife of presidential contender John Kerry raised eyebrows during a campaign stop in New York.

Teresa Heinz Kerry joined volunteers packing supplies for those worst hit by the storm in the Caribbean but said she feared they were concentrating on sending too many clothes and not enough water or electricity generators.

“Clothing is wonderful, but let them go naked for a while, at least the kids,” she said.
