Absolutely desparte for something "orginal" to talk about, Laura Ingraham has just said that because John McCain did not attack the Kerry/Edwards ticket on the Today show this morning, "You can kiss this election good bye." Is there anything sadder than a radio personality that uses demagogic buzz language to try and get the phones to ring? There are 120 days or so until election day, but Luara Einstein Ingraham "knows" Kerry has won because of something that didn't happen three months before it even takes place! This woman is a genius!
I think Randi Rhodes is worse. She always seems to have "off" days when I tune her in.
(Only because the Yankees preempt Howie Carr.)
And those Jim Hightower commentaries drive me up the wall.
I switch between Ingraham and Glenn Beck, depending on my mood and their topics.
That's a major part of the problem with the Senate.
I heard the reporting of the McCain comment today, and I was totally disgusted by that buddy-buddy atmosphere.
Call a crook a crook, a gigolo a gigolo, and clymer a clymer.
At this point, the Senate needs an enema. And yearly mental competency tests. And IRS audits.
Good for Ingraham to call McCain on "statement".
The constant reference to 'my good friend' by many Senators bespeaks of a club atmosphere and it is just that, a ckub.
I don't want to see them attack each other but Senators can give information on voting records and deliberations without having to constantly stroke each other.
McCain appears always to be spending 90% of his interview time defending his senate colleagues or stroking them. He gives very little info that can't be predicted beforehand, hence he comes across as a waste of time. Many Senators appear uninformative and stroking although there are some notable exceptions.
McCain needed to tell the viewers what kind of votes Edwards and Kerry make on healthcare, military etc. He needed to distinguish their base from Bush's base. He needed to emphasize Edwards is supported 80% by trial lawyers and so on. Did he do any of that?
I don't know what it is about Laura, she just irks me. I listen to her in the evenings on WABC radio in NY metro area. She's too girly.......(I'm one myself) but some of her stuff is beyond hilarious. She's on in the morning here to fill in for John Gambling who also irks my nerves!!
Maybe I'm just a disgruntled old broad........
She does too much ass kissing for me. And, she is extremely juvenile! Sorry, but I can only take so much of her.
I see 1992 all over again. Deal wit it.
I would rank her above Rush too.
>Without a doubt, Laura is the brightest, wittiest, funniest adult talk show host on the air today.<
That she is. I saw her go up against old screechy-voiced Susan Estrich last night on Greta's show. Estrich, needless to say, was hopelessly outclassed.
We ALL know McCain is LAME and cares only about himself. To expect him to spend more time talking about Bush's issues rather than spending all the time talking about himself saying only "I" support the Presodent is expecting too much from McLame.
Laura may of just gotten a bit excited when she made the "over" statement in reaction to McLames Lame support.
I listened to most of her show today, but didn't catch this. It sounds like her sarcasm, though.
Yes, I was yelling... Sorry. BUT I am mad as hell and I aint going to take it anymore. Sorry. ;)
Why can't the challenge the "statements", lies, actually, made by their fellow colleagues?
Kennedy, for example, is an outright liar that poses a distinct threat to the US military personnel in foreign lands
when he takes to the Senate floor to bloviate.
But not one Senator takes him to task. Maybe the occasional Represenative will offer criticism, but no one in the Senate.
Likewise with Leahy. He lied to Strom Thurmond's face, yet no criticism was forth coming.
It's too much of a club, where anything goes. They certainly aren't upholding their fiduciary duty.
McCain? He's been seduced by the limelight, and really should retire, but if he does, he loses the limelight.
It's about him now, than serving both NM, and as a US Senator, the rest of the country.
I know the rules, if I had pictures I'd post them!!!! :)
I agree but the last I checked McCain was a Senator from Arizona.
I meant they need not launch personal attacks. I just wish they would quit with the
'My good friend from X certainly has a right to express their own view and I respect their right to do so. In fact that's what makes this country so great blah blah blah the right for each of us to have our views...'
By the time you get done listening to a U.S. Senator you have learned nothing except they are in love with all the other Senators.
I know that...I really do...
Laura is not only a great conservative, she is a good friend of Free Republic. You're going to have to go through me if you want of piece of Laura.
I'm a Laura fan. I wish I could get her in Philly.
I'd vote for Michael Savage, but that's just me.
