I know for sure the author was John Christopher. He has not unsimilar things.Didn't he write the "Tripod Trilogy"? I loved those books, and the British TV series based on them that was shown back in the 80's.

You just can't make this stuff up.Heh. I'm heading down to MS for my Girl Cousin Reunion this weekend; I'm sure I'll hear plenty of fun stuff, too! We usually spend the first night just drinking wine, margaritas, and daiquiris and laughing til we cry. I can't wait!!!

You must have a nasty layover somewhereNot really! 2 1/2 hours from Seattle to L.A., and hour in L.A., then 3 hours from L.A. to Austin. Two hour time change accounts for the rest!

I have really enjoyed reading the posts of all of you who were able to share in our wedding... both here on Free Republic, and here in person! This thread will be a real keepsake for us to look back on!
I know there are precious-few pictures that have been posted here yet, we just don't have many except the ones Bear posted, and those posted from my camera after that. We don't have the professional pics back yet, but when we get them, there will be a weddingmoot page (or pages!) at the dot net hobbit hole site!
ecurbh has prepared a couple versions of a gif file of the wedding cam images.... these are arbitrary archives of the shots every five minutes throughout the day... I think the sunup to sundown perspective, with all the activity between, is pretty cool!
ecurbh, you are the coolest guy I know!
For those of you with slow connections, it may be best to right-click-'save target as' to your desktop before trying to watch it!
