It's both - well, the characters are all magic users. The crime appears to be by ordinary means, but that's because the murder isn't the true crime... heh, funny how my brain works sometimes. I scribbled up those first sentences to try something with a noir-y kind of feel, and what do you know, now it all makes sense.

I shall go write a paragraph or two...

Tonight I'm thinking like a magical detective. Not one who sings. Let's see...

See if this gives you any ideas:

RAINING CATS AND DOGS AND FISH AND FROGS...

The artist is at work :)

The artist is frowning... I get Castor, he's easy. But Pollux... I don't know Pollux. Who is he... what are his motivations, other than making Castor's life difficult?

Maybe to do Pollux you need to think like an annoying brother :) Pollux is the older one, right? Which one of them gets along with father better and which gets along with mother better? Why does he like making Castor's life difficult?--what's in it for him?

Does Pollux typically assign Castor the legwork because he sees it as "beneath" him and thus as a way to humiliate Castor? Will he be annoyed if Castor solves the mystery even though he (Pollux) is the better detective? Maybe they have different methods of problem-solving and that's part of a rivalry between them?

ROTFL!! I am in tears here laughing at the description of the Knockwurst surrounded by extruded foam insulation to keep the strewn peas from escaping!!

Heh...yeah, that one brought tears to my eyes, too! And I was reading them at work and trying not to be noticeable, but my shoulders were shaking so hard...

I don't have those cookbooks, but I do have some from about that time period. I can remember laughing at the poor colors and drawings, but the commentary on that site really cracked me up.

I have a friend here! :-)

I thought she had disappeared from here! Glad she found her way safely through Mirkwood!

Evening all... ecurbh and I had a nap this afternoon, I think sometimes I'd like to sleep for a whole day!

Ecurbh is working on the time lapse gif of the wedding day at the beach house, from all the webcam images. It seems it ~was~ actually working, and there is an image saved every five minutes from sunup to sundown. It'll be neat.

Speakin' of White Trash...

Nana's back and fillin' me in on her days in North Carolina. I just have to sit and roll my eyes. How my wife and her younger sister got out of that family with two full sets of teeth I'll never understand.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Did anyone ever post the picture of my reaction when I saw the shoes? I don't think they did! We are really just getting around to looking at the pictures.

Here they are sittin' on the dock.

And here's me when I saw 'em.

We thought of you, and ordered you an omelette!

Cool, that looks like ham and cheese...my fav. And I see WN got to check it out too. Hope you liked it, we sure did, and they really cater to the army in there. Thanks for the omlette. Steve

Good. Quiet. We played a lot of waltzes...things we hadn't played in awhile.

Kind of in come-down mode since we just did one gig and don't have another until late July. So it was relaxed.
