I didn't see "Strange Brew" (which is a retelling of Hamlet with lots of slapstick, bathroom humor, and beer).

A couple that I haven't seen but I've heard are patterned after Shakespeare are "Men Of Respect" (mob movie patterened based on Macbeth) and "My Own Private Idaho" (based on Henry IV)

Kate Winslet recited the "Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediment" sonnet in the 1995 Ang Lee production of Sense and Sensibility--and very nicely.

"My darling Clementine"

Nice catch!

Not sure how you missed the admirable "Shakespeare in Love" Or did I miss it on your list?

Also, wasn't Bogart's final 'The stuff dreams are made of' line in "Maltese Falcon" form Shakespeare?

How about every Star Trek movie?

(Too 'low-brow'? sorry)

Goodbye Girl had the couple (Richard Dreyfus and Marsha Mason, I think) attending a laughable Richard III.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead...great movie! I loved it, even though it featured Richard Dreyfuss (boo hisss!).

The Lion in Winter has a Lear reference (yes, it's set in 1183, but it's still a Shakespeare reference).

Kurosawa's Throne of Blood is a version of Macbeth.

There's a wild and wacky version of the Tempest, by/with (?) JOhn Casavetes. And there may be another wild and wacky version. It's been 25 years since everything, and I can't remember if it's one movie or two.

"The Lion King". Think about it. It's Hamlet.

The king’s brother secretly kills the king then takes the king’s place, ruling the kingdom and marrying the king’s wife. The king’s son gets disturbed about the whole thing, even before he suspects his uncle’s guilt, and after a period of exile returns to successfully avenge his father’s death.
