Savage is such an uncultured ape that he wouldn't know "class" if it came up and kissed him on the cheek. He's in San Francisco.

I agree in general that Savage is being a jerk, Bush did not have to suck up to the Clintons today. This is not necessary for him to host the Clintons portrait being painted. He could have let some flunky at the White House take care of it. He should not have been rude, but he did not have to suck up to Clinton either.

That is so unfair to us Drunks!
I quit listening to him days ago, he was the first to say that the "Gushing over Reagan" was over the top, he said that on Tuesday or Wednesday, the button on my Radio was reprogrammed at that moment, he needs me, I don't need him.
He wasn't exactly all that much to listen to anyway.

Savage is a friggin Moron. He's controlled more by a spirit of Contrarianism than Conservatism. He's the Loserdopian's man on the radio.

You are both right-on in your comments about this. I would have thought that a self-professed educated man like Savage would be aware of the fact that in our system of government the roles of Head of State and Chief Executive are combined in one office. This is not the case in most parliamentary systems, in which these roles are separate.
Head of State is a ceremonial, not a political role. A very large part of any president's time is taken up by ceremonial Head of State duties, and unveiling the portraits of a president's immediate predecessor is one of those duties. Partisan politics are simply inappropriate at such occasions.
Clinton had to do it for Bush 41. Reagan had to do it for Carter, who had to do it for Ford, and so on, as far back as these ceremonial unveilings have been taking place. If Savage doesn't know that, he's ignorant. If he knows but doesn't understand it, he's stupid. If he knows and understands, but doesn't care, he's an ass.

And especially when he says things like: "I'm the only one telling you this.." He pats himself on the back more than anyone I've ever seen -- a total narcissist. It's hilarious when he calls himself a "scientist" and a "scholar." What's his degree in, nutrition? Also claims that Dubya stole the term "compassionate conservatism" from him, and that Rush steals a bunch of stuff every week. Complete BS, all of it.

I like Savage. If you think he is the only one bragging, then you are somehow missing 3/4 of Rush, Sean, O'Reilly, etc. They ALL pretend to be self effacing and then tell you they invented conservatism. Savage is a stream of consciousness sort of guy. I didn't hear him today, but I have to agree with his basic premise.
I tend to think Bush had to treat the Clintons graciously today. But IF you think Clinton was a brutal rapist (and I do) to cite just one example, then it can be viewed as moral cowardice to treat him with respect. I happen to think Clinton did a long list of things which disqualify him from decent public treatment, but most Republicans are too "clever" to call a degenerate a degenerate.

I quit listening the day he aired the Nick Berg audio at the top of the first hour with no warning. He's a nut. An inconsiderate nut at that...

If you can find a transcript of the speech, I don't think "W" was sucking up.
When he mentioned things about clintoon, he never said anything about him being outstanding
or anything other than ordinary. That's what I got out of it.

I hate his rants. And especially when he says things like: "I'm the only one telling you this.." Not true Michael, we have FRAnd on FR, you call them trolls, Evil-DUers, (Actually, I just made that one up, I think!) and other things without actually getting to the heart of the issue.
The issue is: Why all the ass-kissing for "The Great Stainmaker" ???
He could have done what Ah-Nuld (another FR favorite) is supposedly planning to do at the convention: Give a subdued, non-glowing, polite presentation without the jokes, back slapping, and laudatory praise.
If I was in Bush's position, I could not bring myself to praise a man that sold our nuclear technology to China, forever disgracing th Presidency, and endangering the Greatest Nation On God's Green Earth. Anyone disagree? If you do, call me at 1 800 955 1776...Whoops! I have been listening to too much Michael Medved as well.
By the way: He is DEAD ON about "Tah-raaaay-zah Hind's-end Kerry"
