I agree in general that Savage is being a jerk, Bush did not have to suck up to the Clintons today. This is not necessary for him to host the Clintons portrait being painted. He could have let some flunky at the White House take care of it. He should not have been rude, but he did not have to suck up to Clinton either.

I like Savage. If you think he is the only one bragging, then you are somehow missing 3/4 of Rush, Sean, O'Reilly, etc. They ALL pretend to be self effacing and then tell you they invented conservatism. Savage is a stream of consciousness sort of guy. I didn't hear him today, but I have to agree with his basic premise.
I tend to think Bush had to treat the Clintons graciously today. But IF you think Clinton was a brutal rapist (and I do) to cite just one example, then it can be viewed as moral cowardice to treat him with respect. I happen to think Clinton did a long list of things which disqualify him from decent public treatment, but most Republicans are too "clever" to call a degenerate a degenerate.

If you can find a transcript of the speech, I don't think "W" was sucking up.
When he mentioned things about clintoon, he never said anything about him being outstanding
or anything other than ordinary. That's what I got out of it.

Go back and read what President Bush said at the White House today. Think really hard and then tell me that you think he was praising the Clinton's.

I was very proud of Bush. He performed as a statesman, gentleman, and Texan. He has restored dignity and honor to The White House. His grace and class just makes the Clintons look more like the trash that they are.
