In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
As we all know the 40th President of the United States slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God Saturday June 5th. So feel free to post your pics, stories, etc. about the Gipper.
Today's word is one of many that could be chosen in his honor.
.
intrepid \ (n-trpd) \ adjective
intrepidity or intrepidness \ nouns
intrepidly \ adverb.
Deinition: Resolutely courageous; fearless.
Etymology [Latin intrepidus : in-, not; trepidus, alarmed.]
My example: President Reagan in all of his intrepidness said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" A few short years later the Berlin Wall was torn down. This memorable line would have never been uttered if President Reagan had listened to his advisors. His uncommon courage caused great things to happen. This courage was a natural extension of his faith in the American people and the Almighty. And to me that is the Reagan legacy.
This will stun ya camle: I was watching CBS this morning and they actually showed a young black man who had been the president of a fan club for President Reagan...... can you imagine them showing a black man or woman who supported President Bush?
We are going to Cincinnati. You will be in HI the same time as our insane neighbors are there getting married.
Did you ever see tht old SNL skit, patterned on Mutual of Omaha's Wild KIngdom, "In Search of the Negro Republican."? (That Episode, also features Captian Beefheart...!)
they wouldnt' dare. BTW: Reagan upstaged Carter again. Jimmyboy was in CT to christen the USS Jimmy Carter when the news broke. Poor Jimmyboy got bumped off the front page by Reagan's passing. LOL~!
what island are they going to? are they going to be getting married at the wedding falls place on Kauai? bc i can crash it, if they do!!!
I must have missed that one........ sounds funny though
I'll have to find out! It would be awesome if you could crash it....
That skit is as also noteworthy because it is Eddie Murphy's first appearence on TV (he is an extra in the skit.)...
(1980)
Your assignment.....
Here are two Yahoo! maps to show you.
You're up bright and early this am!!!!!!!
yes i am sure with the time diff we will be up early. i imagine we will crash early on Monday and just get up and go. thanks for the maps and the advice on timing. i do NOT want to miss the flight to HI and figure we need to allow time to clear security etc.

F*ng Hilarious. THe MoOWild Kingdom guys stalk a cocktail party, circle in on a well dressed black gentleman, and listen as people ask him questions, IIRC, it when someone asks him to look over some bonds that they Shoot him with the Tranq, bag and tag him......LMAO!
For some reason the dogs AND cat were up last night quite a few times. I even went out and checked the backyard at midnight. Nothing there. The cat was meowing like crazy.
It was also 111 here yesterday. Today is supposed to be ten degrees cooler. I hope so.
God bless us all.
Though we lost a great patriot this weekend, I am relieved that this great man's suffering is over.
It's absolutely shocking what jerks people can be.
