What pets do when they're home alone.
My mother, a life time smoker, has also been diagnosed with lung cancer and will be having the lower portion of her right lung removed.
To any of you who smoke, ask yourself, " Is it worth it?" Is sucking on a cigarette worth having your lung removed and dying? Is it worth it to have your family lose their mother, grandmother, daughter or wife?
Is smoking worth death?
Amen to that.
Sir SuziQ's Mom died from lung cancer in 2000. She also smoked for over 40 years. His sister STILL smokes. We keep nagging her, but I guess she'll quit when she wants to. She's single and has a high pressure job, so she uses the cigs as a calm down thing, too. I hope she'll quit before it's too late!
Ya just gotta LOVE them guys!!
Jackie Calmes' Washington Wire has the long-awaited Kerry bio spots hitting a TV screen near you next week.LOL! What a dillema for the sKerry campaign. They have to know everyone's sick of his telling us he's a war hero, but they also think "many voters" don't know about it!"Next week he airs TV ads on his life, after weeks of negative Bush campaign ads. An aide says campaign surveys show Kerry remains unfamiliar; many voters don't know he saw Vietnam combat."
Odd, he doesn't seem interested in airing videos of the World Trade Center attack showing people jumping out of windows. Apparently Ted doesn't think footage showing 3,000 civilians being killed is something we should be 'reminded' of.
Bring the ads on, that way MORE people will get sick of him!
My favorite line: "We're all learning so much in this campaign about the kind of lifestyle that is created when a gigolo marries a gold-digger."
You said it...this has been a week to raise everyone's despicability of them...From McDermott's pledge (and I am just as enraged that he did not cover his heart while leading the pledge as to him leaving out "under God"); to those idiotic duffers in the Senate calling Cheney a "chicken hawk; to Kerrey and Hamilton walking out on the 9/11 meet with the President; to Ted Koppell (who wants to be known as this war's Walter Cronkite-it won't work, we have seen many images of our brave men dying in the war zones, we certainly know the cost of war, what a pompous jerk he is.
BWB, thanks for the pet photos, a wonderful thread after a disheartening week.
I read an exerpt recently on the latest Jackie O tome and was surprised to learn that Jackie was a lifelong smoker and there was always a pack of Pall Mall's by her side. When she was diagnosed with cancer, supposedly Caroline cried out in anguish "Mom, now will you quit smoking?". I guess she did, but she passed away shortly after.
Kerry was vetted for the VP slot under Gore and supposedly did not pass muster. So how can he be President if he was not good enough for VP?
Also, Kerry said his search for a VP would be "secret" cauz of his humiliation when Gore publicized he was looking at him and then rejected him. But his staff is doing a very public vetting of Edwards, Gephardt, Graham et al? Everyone but Richardson who is being pointedly "left out". And this at a time when his campaign is being pegged as not white enough?
As far as hats go, rain is predicted...bummer...
GO BABY GO
Mountaineer:
I still think there's something suspicious about Kerry's health. He often looks haggard and pale. This little item was in ABC Ed O'Keefe's report:
After one of the most aggressive weeks of campaigning since he gained a numerical lock on the nomination, Kerry jumps off the campaign trail this weekend.Wasn't he "down" last weekend? Remember the metrosexual biking photos? The well-earned break [?!] may be necessary as Kerry began to look tired Thursday, even coughing and sneezing through a series of five radio interviews.
My favorite pet. If I had a pet. |
