Kitty Caption XLIX – Pfc. Hammer and Chess – (Humor/Meow Alerts)

Two topics this week. First a heart warming article. Pfc Hammer (a tiger striped Iraqi Kitten) has found a home in the United States. I have linked the FR thread below (thanks to Sciencediet and Ragtime Cowgirl to bringing this to my attention). The humor side of this thread involves the mind numbing game of chess.
A picture of Pfc. Hammer. Courtesy of Ragtime Cowgirl.
The Knight (also doubles as Viking Kitty Armor).
Meow thinks this is one of the Bishops.
Last but not least, the King and Queen of the chessboard.

Thank you for the kitty ping!

As we are all cat people, we understand. It's hard Kitty pass on. When my Kitty died, (yes that is what I named her) I took it very hard. She owned me for 12 years, just ask my wife LOL!!
Of course she took it even harder, she still doesn't want another cat in the house, but I am working on it.
When the time is right, you will get a new Kitty.

Sorry to hear about the kitty you lost to cancer, MEG. We're going through a similar situation now. Tinuviel was diagnosed last summer with an incurable form of cancer and underwent three operations to remove tumors from her back. Doc said the cancer had invaded her muscle tissue the last time he operated and said he could do no more for her.
She still seems to feel fine right now but the tumors are growing pretty quickly. It's only a matter of time.
I've had her for almost 13 years and know she's had a good life and that will help a little with the pain of losing her. I'll miss her, no matter what.
We'll still have the other 38 to keep me busy. LOL! One is a cancer survivor that is my "miracle boy". His cancer was a different form and was contained and easily removed.
It sounds like there have been two needs met, MEG. An empty spot has been filled in your life, and a sweet kitty was in need of a loving home and now has one. It appears both orders have been filled. :-)

Was Arwen a trampoline as a kitten? Nope...I was, and still am, the trampoline. LOL! I get bounced on every night, usually when I'm just about to nod out. Arwen and Ohphelia are the two main culprits, darn their lil hides.
I swear I hear them snicker as I peel myself from the ceiling.

The length of Hammer's legs and size of his feet make me want to know the height of that vet technician. The article said he's young. I understand Maus are large cats, though I've never had the pleasure of meeting one. If they get anywhere near the size of, say a Bengal, they're hosses.
I've wanted a Bengal ever since I first laid eyes on one.
Hmmmmm, maybe one of those would keep the rest of this "herd" in line. LOL!

Aawwww...that kitty's flirtin' with you! She does that when she wants me to kiss the "pokey-dotz" on her tummy. hehehe! She has different colored spots....brown, black, and yellow....and I kiss 'em and tell her how pretty they are.
You can almost hear her giggle when I do it, and she gets a grin on her face.
Yeah, I'm certifiable. LOL!

I hold my cat in my arms and blow rasberries on his tummy. He just looks around the room while I do it (most of the time).
I bet your kitty does giggle when you're kissin' her belly.
To: radu
I had to go back and look at your little flirt again.

Radu said it perfectly. We've lost pets to cancer and because we love them so much, blame ourselves for not getting to the vet sooner, but in fact we are not psychic and the cat won't admit illness.
But another little furry healer did came to you (amazingly, they always do for me) with needs of her own.
She sounds like she's a gritty little thing. How are her ear and larynx now? What does she look like? Got any pix yet?

Nope...I was, and still am, the trampoline. LOL! I get bounced on every night I was almost afraid to reply to that until I realized it was the cat thread.
Now, I have to picture this, so my question to you is, you have about a million cats, are they all trampoline artists?

Hammer does most certainly look like an exotic breed. Wouldn't it be wild if we weren't hearing the whole story and Hammer was an escapee from a Hussein or a Hussein good ol' boy?

To all of you wonderful people, I was shocked when I saw how many replies I recieved in response to my post. I didn't expect any at all, I was only trying to get something that I felt terribly guilty and shameful about off my chest. The revelation that I was not alone and that others have been there has helped so much. I wish the best for all of you and and your feline family members. I've got tears in my eyes again , but this time they feel good. Some toughguy.

Hugs...I told my daughter your story about Grandpa and we relived the feeling of guilt and pain about my kitty.
We have the once almost starved stray in the house, realizing she has fallen into a bowl of cream and the adventure continues.(I wasn't going to really be drawn in,but here I go.)
I had no idea how hard it would be to share my pain about my kitty, but this thread and a pet thread on the Finest finally helped me .FR has so many animal lovers.

I was almost afraid to reply to that until I realized it was the cat thread. ROTFLOL! That's what I get for posting while half-asleep! Now that I look again at what I'd posted, it does come across funny. hehehehe!
Now, I have to picture this, so my question to you is, you have about a million cats, are they all trampoline artists?
Fortunately, no. I don't think I'd be alive today if they were. LOL!
The few who are trampoline artists do their best to knock the wind out of me or rupture internal organs. It's amazing how an 8 or 9 lb. cat can feel like 50 lbs. when it lands on one's stomach! oof!
