Okers, g'night.
Sleep well, and don't do anything I'd do.
I know, cuts down on the fun sometimes.
"But you'll thank me later!"

I dunno.
I'm told it's either very taboo, or very pleasant.
Haven't really gotten the 'real deal' on that.
I'll be looking for hard intel on the subject.

They've been cross training, sideways MOS switching, the 13bravos (field artillery) types to MP's.
Probably a bad idea as 13bravos are mainly concerned with, "Hey, there's a badguy, let's blow him up." rather than, "Hey, there's a badguy, let's detain him."
There's more to why I left teh service.
But, since I myself am about to drop on the floor asleep, I'll relate it in the morning.

I have a cousin in teh Marines, dunno which unit, and a friend in teh Army in a medical unit, duno which one but I do know he's back home in Utah and awaiting getting married to his "Spritely fiance".
(He said, "She's spritely, but don't say it to her face, she'll knock ya on yer butt.")
Saw a pic of her, and she's an elfin young lady.
George has picked himself a fine woman.
And he got his Seargent stripes as well.
(I never got mine, I couldn't keep my mouth shut when things were wrong, and my PC Captain didn't like that much.)

"The draft is a BAD idea in a free country" I'm inclined to agree with you. While military service might build men, it can also breed contempt in those who don't want to be there and whose hearts are not in it as well as in their families as well. I just don't think that is the best way to build a quality army.
